kyro Posted February 20, 2005 Share Posted February 20, 2005 I use my laptop as mobile workstation. It has windows xp home preloaded by IBM. on it. I also have Fedora Core 3, Slackware 10, Ubuntu 4.1 on dual boot. This is for me to keep practising "things" when i am on trip in hotel rooms or at home idle with no power (electricity-outage) at my desktop. But knowing that Windows XP home is totally strip down from any microsoft server package, I couldnt do anything meaning full on WindowsXP and had to find a way. The IIS, DNS-server, and other server related things are all available in Windows XP Professional edition or Windows 2003 Server edition. So instead of installing XP professional or 2003 evaluation ( you know what i mean (:) ) . I started finding out; how can i use third party software's to satisfy my appitite? Then i came up with the softwares u can see mentioned in Screenshot. 8-) . Now i can happily continue coding Php scripts, mysql databases, cgi-scripts.
