Future Product:- VDSL connection net @ 52MBPS.

Recommended Posts

Imagine downloading files, videos @speed of 52Mbps downstream:O on your normal twisted copper phone line.

Its called VDSL, Very high bit-rate DSL. you can subscribe to TV channels , internet connections at multiple nodes through a single connection. Although it looks really promising it will be quite expensive, there r more than one standard, it works on a short range of 1200metres/ 4000 feet approx. As always it will be introuced in some euro and american cities(dunno when).

Personally i m not really excited for this. the phone bills in Mumbai,India r already really high. the service will not be to-the-par. Cablenet has swooped the whole city. cablenet is really really cheap.

I have used this service in AZ. What you get is a 1mbit/sec line. Qwest the company who offers this uses the rest of the bandwidth for cable. At the time that they offered it, they came in to your house and wired any and all the rooms you wanted for CAT 5. They gave you 4 port hub which connected to the gateway box on your TV, and allowed you to use up to 4 computers on the connection. All for $45 a month. and this included your ISP. It worked great, but Qwest is terrible and their customer service lacks horribly. I had a tech question which took 2.5 hours and 12 people to answer. I have Cox cable now...
