Like I said, we need something that is userfriendly if we wish to attract people from MSN messenger.

Xero's design seems to only appeal to those who know what they are doing. The interface if completely crowded and hard to read. Sure, he has some new ideas, but I don't know how useful they will actually be? The only useful one that I can note would be the ability to have multiple account info stored, but his interface doesn't add anything but looks.

Plus, unlike Xero's, mine can be made to match any theme. It doesn't have to be royale (which not many people even use), but anything you like. It even fits with classic.

Ok here is my idea with the conversation window. I thought it would be cool to have the typing window at the top and the message history at the bottom and having the option of switching from the current message history (history from today) and previous message history (history from before today).

Sure it is different... but does it do anything for the user?

You have to realize that being different isn't always better, you have to create something that will make the experience better.

which, in my experience, is most of the time different from everthing else.....like this theme is

3Cube: I really like that idea. I just need to get a hold of Lee (he's been sick lately) to talk to him about it. So if you maybe want to see that design come to life......

Yeah I would definately be interested in making my design come to life in Nexus.

I like the theme, but I definately don't like the conversation window being at the bottom.. :/

Yeah that can easily be changed. I placed the typing window at the top because it is used more by the User than the conversation window so I thought it would be more user friendly having it at the top and it would be closer to the Send File, Invite, Block and E-Mail buttons. It would be cool for the user to be able to actually specify if they want the Conversation window at the top or bottom. Therefore, it would make everyone happy.

Well I have to say that yet again I'm impressed with the work coming from members of Neowin here. Blax has contacted me with a design (I have yet to see it but he says it's coming) so we may have more then one design to show with the next version. Possibly....

Well what I'm hope will happen with the project (sadly I'm not programming it cause I don't know .NET or C# yet...), is the ability to skin like Winamp. So you can have a menu to change the colour if you would like. I've seen a preview of this with Blax's skin and I'm very impressed. It would be simple to do (I think) so I don't see why it won't happen.
