Replacement for Kazaa Lite?

Question

Hiya all,

Do any of you know of a replacement program for the now-banned Kazaa Lite?

I would like to connect to Kazaa but I don't want the Spyware-infested KMD.

Thanks

Is this any good? This is the first I've ever heard of this program. I am checking it out now.

why do you need the kazaa network? limewire is much better software wise; and its network is very wide and its supporting of open source is a plus. kazaa its properly in ruins now, it's not worth putting up with it.

Here's a list of my personally recommended apps:

Shareaza - Has plenty of music, uses Gnutella1/2 and edonkey network.

eMule / eMule Plus - Uses edonkey network. Good source for downloading entire music albums.

Soulseek - Generally good for rare music.

Ares / Ares Lite - Easy to use, clean, with fair amount of music.

DC++ (personal fav) - Excellent source for music (in large hubs). Requires large share (1-10GB+) and several hubs are quite strict. Not recommended for beginners.

I've been using Ares for the last two weeks and I've been finding quite a lot of music on it. Kazaa Lite still works fine for me, and I found quite a bit on it the other night.

Survey says: Limewire/Limewire Pro

I use limewire in addition to the original Kazaa Lite K++. As it's been said, the Kazaa network is nothing but a post-apacalyptic wasteland of viruses and bogus files.

Limewire is exponentially better.

For those who have Limewire Pro: What precisely are the advantages of using it? Are there really that many more search results and are downloads that much faster?

I use eMule almost exclusively now. It tends to be a slow download but if you're patient you can get some really rare full albums. I was using AresLite but after my last format I didn't install it again. It's great if you just want to get on there and download a single song and then listen to it. I haven't used Direct Connect in almost two years because of how annoying it was to be cutoff when downloading something only to find that everyone else in the hub had the file you were downloading under a different name so it won't resume. I did, however get my first copy of WinXP off of DC back in the day (anyone remember Devil's Own?).
