Disable Save As... in webpage?

Question

Im having problems with people copying stuff off my site. I disabled right clicks, highlighting, and the ability to see the link at the bottom of IE. But can i stop them from just saving it as a complete page, and editing it from there?? I heard there were some scrips to do this, but I cant find any. Any help (or other page protection ideas) would be appreciated.

I am sorry to say this to you - but it would be pretty pointless.

If I wanted to rip anything off your site, i could click the "view" button and then click source. Find out the addresses of your frames and load them and view their source! ;)

It is very hard to totally secure your site from HTML stealers and graphics stealers - you have to ask yourself, is there many people who would do this?

I did find a script once where right click was disabled on the page and the view source command was disabled in the menu aswell. But unfortunately I cannot find the script on my system  but otherwise you'll have to either let ppl steal from your site, or put a watermark image layer in each image that identifies your site.

You'll sort it out.

I don't think so. The file that shows on the website is just like a movie file, but the file you actually edit isn't even put on the site at all. You convert the editing file to a movie type format for the web.(non-editable)

Think of it as you keep a photoshop file on youe computer so you can edit it, but convert it to jpeg so that people can look at it.

Please correct me if I am wrong on this, but from what I know this is correct.

Haa haa, the age old problem of hiding script. Well I have tried it too. The only way I can think of is to actually insert a few hundred times before the first part of the code. Maybe enter a warning after 10 lines that the code may not be ripped and that the IP has been logged. It is enough to deter most wannabe script robbers. Give my page a look to see what I mean about this trick, not fool proof but holds most amateurs out.

You could also try loading all your pages into full screen mode whenever they are entered. I had that script someplace but it is easy to find if you have a look on some of the better script sites.

Okay.

SWF-Browser

http://swifftools.com/

Features:

'The SWF Browser is a handy tool for everybody that uses Macromedia's Flash. The Browser has an Explorer like interface enabling you to quickly browse thru all SWF's on your harddrive or network.

It also gives you ways of browsing thru a .SWF file's "guts".

Finally you can extract many parts from the file. (i.e. bitmaps, sounds, movieclips).'

It will also remove file-protection from .swf's. I'd tell you how to remove it with a hex editor, but this isn't the place. :p There was also a program awhile back that could extract actionscripting from .swf's, but I forgot what/where you could get it...
