PermaSt0ne
i'm looking for a good pair of wireless headphones. my budget allows for around $150. Bluetooth or non bluetooth i don't really care. unless there is a advantage to having bluetooth?? anyways, i'm looking around as i type this but i'd like some of your guy's opinions too. as for what they will be used for. moderate gaming, mostly listening to music. thanx in advance :D EDIT: i forgot to ask, what really matters in wireless headphones when it comes to sound quality? batery life i don't really care about, nor do i really care about wieght. The-VOICE
Presently, I use a fifteen-year old pair of Sony infrared headphones. The range is lousy, and if I'm not directly in line with the transmitter, I can hear mild to very annoying static. That being said I've tried to replace them with something better in the RF (radio frequency) variety that would allow me to better roam around the room without noise. In the past six months I've bought--and promptly returned--RF models from Sony, RCA, and Recoton. There may have been a Sennheiser, also, but I can't remember for certain. All of them were 900MHz, and none of them were acceptable for the price paid which ranged from $100 to $140. While I was able to go around corners and hear music which the infrared model will obviously not allow, even if I stood only feet away from the RF transmitter, I heard random pops, clicks, and sputters. Granted I live in an apartment complex no doubt surrounded by numerous other forms of wireless transmitters, but I found the sound quality to be the equivalent of Chinese water torture. I, too, have investigated Bluetooth and 802.11 headphones, but I'm not finding anything that has even passed a good review. Surely, this will change, but I wonder how long. The-VOICE
I own RS-65 since 85 is useless for the difference pricethey are awsome 585598292[/snapback] It occurs to me now that I did not test a pair of Sennheiser's. If I remember correctly the Sennheiser wireless headphones were the only ones for which my local store did not offer an extended warranty. I'm not a fan of extended warranties, but this is a mobile product that I intend to lift weights with and potentially may fall off my head or get bumped or something. Extended warranties were offered for the three other brands of wireless headphones the local store offered, and something just didn't feel right about the situation. Thank you for the recommendation! I'll give them a listen. :) I don't expect wireless headphones to sound as good as my wired Grado SR-80's, but I do expect them to not add random clicks/pops.
