Hey Craig...

Searched far and wide for you, sent mails/PMs/Messages at XPgui but never got an answer :(

Even after you disappeared and the project got put on hold for so long, nobody here forgot about it (how could we, your installer was the bomb!!!)

Anyway, since you were abducted by aliens :D , abcd took over the SP1 installer thing, its allmost ready and all he has to do now is to get permission from Mikkel. I hope you're gonna try his version (I know I will), I think he's gonna do a great job with it!!!

Must be nice for you that your work is still so popular!!! Even enough for other people to take up where you left off!

Nice to hear from you,

Yours truly!

i see you are back  say, how did you make the respatchers to add different icon sizes? for me when i replace an icon in restorator it changes it only to sizes that already were there

Easy,

1. buy the application (legit)

2. speak with Florain (very cool and halpful guy)

3. ask him for the developer build of Resorator v2.6build252 which includes Parameters for the ResPatcher:

-force: do not check that the right executable is being

patched

-guiless: do not display main window; patch the file

automatically (-auto implicit, but displays

error messages)

-quiet: do not display error messages

-auto: automatically start patching, exit after patching

-dir <dir>: input and output directory where to apply the patch

-nobackup: do not create backups of original exe files

-help: display help dialog (will not patch anything and

ignore other options)

Also you can add resources (extra icon sizes etc.)

and he has implemnted system variables to the respatches.

Well worth the investment.

PLESE NOTE: NOT FOR USE WITH WINDOWS XP SP1 ! ! !
OK, here is something I have been working on for a while now and it has rached a phase where it can be a handy tool for the newbie to the experienced alike. This installer will change 65 of your system files to the ones I have made with MMX icons. Before we get to the download links, I want to say one thing "READ THE README FILE"which you can get from HERE . Remeber that you are replacing some very serious OS files, so take the time to read it first. I tried to make the readme as comprehensive as possible, so read it.
So, for the links ? How about a screenie ?
http://www.xpgui.com/MMX/screens/InAction.jpg
and for some of the system you can grab them here 1 2 3 4
Grab the installer from HERE

Thats about it for now, have fun.

Where can i get Windows XP Sp1 edition ?

go to the windows update site and download it

He is not talking about the XP SP1 pack he is talking about the SP1 versiion of this other MMX Installer thing.

Umm and i am sorry though i not know anywhere to find it man try emailing him.

acbd r u waiting for a reply from Mikkel Madsen? :(

If so, is there ony 1 that could help to se if Mikkel could give the permission? :)

acbd - if u need help (place) to host the installer give me a PM :D

yeah, im waiting for a reply from him. and when i finish with the installer i will need the host, thanks :D

how long more to wait for this installer, maybe the guy for the last permission died or somethin, would you wait, that long, , i am saying come on guy you all ready got one permission, so why wont release it, ,by the time you release it there will be another out. dont get me wrong cause your doing a great job, but you bin trying to get the last permision, for so long now, what if the guy moved out to another location , will you still wait for it.

The last permission abcd needs is that of Mikkel Madsen. Maybe you're not so familiar with what this installer is or does, but Mikkel is the person who made the MMX icons and if there is any permission of vital importance than it is HIS!!!

Nobody likes the fact that abcd hasn't heard from Mikkel yet, I don't either, but if we must wait than wait we shall!

Yours truly!

Hmmmmmmm, if that is the case, I believe DisinfectDuck, AcidBurn, DOCaCola and myself all have original icons in the installer ?

Off course, there are quite a few other artists envolved in bringing together your awesome installer, Craig!!!

A little excerpt from your readme in your installer:

"1. The creator of MMX icons Mikkel Madsen for his truely awsome work on the MMX Mercury set.

visit him at www.mmicons.com

2. NOWHEREMAN, for his always, very cool avi files.

3. AcidBurN, for the use of some icons from his cool, shell32.dll he made available for everyone.

4. cdbryan, huge thanks for letting me bounce my ideas of him and his testing of the icons, files, etc and the use of an image from the awsome msgina.dll of his, if you want the msgina, just ask.

5. DisinfectedDuck for the cool toolbars and some icons.

6. If I have forgotten anyone, sorry........get intouch and I'll update the readme to included you !"

But as you also pointed out the MMX icon set is the prime component of the installer, now isn't it! So the first and foremost permission needed is that of Mikkel, that's what I tried to clarify in the previous post...

Now that you bring it up, are you going to give permission to abcd?

Yours truly
