Dazzla Veteran Posted May 29, 2002 Veteran Share Posted May 29, 2002 Surprisingly enough, USB printer sharing (at least that's what I think this is) isn't enabled in OS X 10.1.x. You are going to have to wait until Jaguar is released in september, I've tried USB printer sharing on this and it works fine. Also, if the printer works fine directly connected to the iBook then in theory it should be automatically detected in the print centre, but like I said, if this is what USB printer sharing is, then it's not enabled. It's also much faster as well, but it is buggy, although it never got worse then an application crash, it's still worse then the current 10.1.4. Mind you, I'm still yet to have anything even approaching a blue screen on any release, even jaguar. bboyroe Posted May 30, 2002 Author Share Posted May 30, 2002 i have tried using dave but it appears to only support pcs and other macs printing to the mac with dave installed on it, you cant print to a printer connected to your pc using dave, i would happily connect my printer to my mac but with it being the ibook i dont really want to leave it switched on. Plus I carry it around all the time. Looks like i will have to wait till the release of jaguar.
