Adblock Plus now has site-specific ad-hiding so you can still support websites while having no ads:

I think he is look at the tick box that says "Hide Ads" and thought you were blocking Neowin ads. :p

Only ads I'd want to block on here are those double green underline ads. Those things totally seem to slow down my browser. It's so bad I almost never visit the main Neowin site any more. Only visit the forums for the most part.

I don't mind static banner ads, but these things are the work of the devil... :p

I use Adblock plus on my laptop and desktop, with a few favorites whitelisted (i.e. Neowin). I was wondering if anyone uses this Firefox add-on

and if so, what kind of list has given you the most success? I have seen shorter lists with more variables catch a lot of ads versus long lists that

seem to have quite a bit of redundancy in their wildcards.

I know this topic is old, but useful discussion can still take place on this topic, so I'm hoping the mods don't lock it.
