Question

Alright, I got a problem here:

When I use an existing profile without a mac install, it says there is an error with the profile when I run the installer. When I create a new profile, and use it immediately the installer boots up, but it detects no drives. Can someone explain the logic?

OK, I'll be the one who asks the obvious. So now what? You have something that looks like a Mac OS on your Windows PC, doesn't perform anything like a Mac and will never do so. So what exactly have you gained other than a resource-hungry new skin for your Windows box?

A means of using an operating system at respectful speeds on a hardware platform that is far cheaper than that of the one it's native to? :p

yeah you must create a new profile and let cherry os format the drive then macosx will see the hfs drive

EDIT: I used disk utility to format the drive. It recongizes it now but it says I can't install Mac OS X from there because it's not a bootable volume. :( What do I do?

Okay this is weird. I can boot the install from the cd in CherryOS but I can't get past the very first loading screen... the grey one with apple logo in the middle... it just stays on it forever. When I boot the CD install in PearPC, it says that it cant find a bootable partition on the disk... it's an official cd from apple so I don't understand why this is happening. Please do enlighten me.

After reinstalling CherryOS today - I've noticed this is for the 'CherryOS network card', a Windows XP security box should come up asking you if you want to install this unsigned driver ;)

i'm using pearpc right now to check the image file but this comes up:

[iO/IDE] <Error> /dev/cdrom: could not open file (No error)

what can i do to fix this?

Comment these lines by putting '#' infront of it.

#pci_ide0_slave_installed =1
#pci_ide0_slave_image = "E:\CDImage.iso"
#pci_ide0_slave_type = "cdrom"

If you want to use a CD then remove the '#' and change the second line to whatever path and file name your cd image is,
