Symanctec AV problems.....

Well recently I have been experiencing some problems with my Symantec Antivirus. It seems to be that it no longer starts up when I load Windows XP, and it also seems that the scan options have dissapeared.

Does anyone know why I am experiencing problems like this?

scan online (trendmicro for example)

uninstall and reinstall symantec av

if a virus is found and symantec failed to detect it, try nod32

Is service loaded? Go to File menu and select Load Service (as I recall). If you keep your AV up to date and have automatic protection enabled it should catch almost anything. Do not repair, uninstall completely (SAV, LiveUpdate), delete Symantec folders after reboot and install again. Also, upgrade to latest version.
