kbs Posted June 1, 2002 Share Posted June 1, 2002 Well...I could, but we use computers all day at work, so...I guess that would mean a vacation. For me, it's not that hard anymore. I think I used to use it in place of having things to do, people to hang out with. It was like a comfort food or a child's favorite stuffed animal/blanket. Now, I guess I'm growing out of needing it, its just for fun. I don't think I'm going to continue with this computer crap after that. UKer Posted June 5, 2002 Share Posted June 5, 2002 The two weeks of the year I have without a computer (on holiday) are like heaven as I'm stuck in front of a computer from 9-5 every day at work (and sometimes longer), and I have been for the last few years. I unfortuntely work in computers so can't get away from it, but I am taking a masters degree so I can stop working in a technical area, as there is no way I can spend the next 25 years telnetting machines and using databases and visio, I envy people working with people (eg project managers) as they have so much more fun on an average day. When I get home I use my machine for about 1/2 hour (playing a game) and that's it as my girlfriend moans all the time I use my machine - so I hardly use my home computer and could live without that all together, although I would miss my 1/2 hour gaming!!
