The hubs I frequent have recently banned DC++ from entering. I have never used DC++ so I spent some time on their forums browsing the various viewpoints. Now I would like to hear yours. I'm leaning toward the "until the bugs are out and the cheating is fixed - ban it all to hell" take on the whole matter. The major issue is the hub/slot ratio which KILLS the whole community feel. DC is not Kazaa, or Scour, or any of the other alive or dead P2P programs. It's got a much more personal feel and its a whole lot more about sharing then just getting. Anyway - I dont see DC++ as being anything other than a big cheat at this point in time.

So, is DC++ a good thing or is it the antichrist?? Please, feel free to rant. I would like to know why people are using it.

And for those that have no idea what the hell I'm talking about:

Of course you dont dl from people that cheat. YOU CANT! Thats what cheating is. The interface of DC++ is pretty much the same as the OLD DC [.9977], so I guess thats all a matter of taste. I personally really like the newer DC's interface. I'm not sure where you get this idea that DC++ is designed with the user in mind. You can parrot the hype all you like - but it doesnt make sense. How is a system designed to let you not share good for the user? :s How is it head and shoulders above dc? That what I want to know. Other than the ability to cheat, what makes DC++ so damn cool????????????

I agree with you Dead Zombie - I've taken up the habit of disconnecting any DC++ users that get through. :D

By the looks of this poll, DC++ isnt really gonna be that much of an issue. Maybe it will quietly die as it slowely gets banned from everywhere. Perhaps they should just set up there own system and get away from NeoModus all together.
