Mozilla Firefox 1.0.2 Released

Recommended Posts

Yea, All I did was simply backed up my C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla directory (Just incas;);)).

Headed over to Add/remove and just uninstalled the first installation i saw. Then went into Registry and did a search for Mozilla. Deleted everything that popped up.

Back to Add/Remove i went. Removed all previous remaining instalations.

Installed and Wallah! The damn thing ran flawlessly. Picking up where my previous installation left off. Plugins all work fine. Didn't even have to copy any files back from backed up folder:):)

Personally, I consider having three copies of the same program a "problem."

When there's an update, I always download it through Software Update.

Yes, a real coding peeve for me. What's the use of the auto-update if they can't even do the install properly?

Huh? He didn't use auto-update. If he had, I'm sure it would've been fine.

This has apparently been a long-open bug in bugzilla. Go vote for it and maybe some day they'll get around to fixing it:

While you're at it, vote for my bug to improve the Find toolbar. ;)

here's a tip:

If the additional versions of Firefox in the Add/Remove programs bothers you, then you can go into the registry and delete the older keys such as:

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Mozilla Firefox (1.0.1)"

I have been doing that because I didnt like seeing several entries of older Firefox versions in my list.  It may bother some people, other people may not care at all but if you do there is a fix.  Hopefully the Mozilla Team will fix this soon!  I love my regedit.  :D
