@ bcool and Predator001, i will workthose issues before i release the final version later on tonight. The only other color option for shellstyle mousover that would match is white or no color change. i do agree the red is a little distracting. although not exactly illegible.

and @ Predator001

# 3 though what area of window is shown in ur screen, i cant find an instance of My Computer with white font anywhere.

And @ everyome else, as stated in the WIP thread this Theme was inspired by Kol's Sustenance but if you will download and take a look you will see its completely dfferent overall look and feel. ;)

Thanks again to everyone.

cool...its a nice style.

#3 might just be my PC and styleXP...ive had issues before with font colours. i'll check if its mine.

EDIT : yea...it was just my styleXP...if i enabled it through the windows appearance tab it works with the blue text...scrap what i said in 3.

Lovely, lovely theme.

I've been waiting for this one, quietly, since your early mockups.

While I agree with people that red against blue can be a bit jarring, it works well, and cuts through the glare on my computer screen, fairly well.

The caption buttons are really nice with the glowing ring and such. As is the color scheme as a whole (I like tan, o.k, folks). The tabs and scrollbar work well in the Mozilla Suite and the buttons are nicely rounded without cutting off the ends of buttons bars (which happens on a number of vs's in programs like wordpad).

Thank you very much for the hours and hours you spent on making this one.

One, small request though. :) Now, one little request, how about a compact menu, or at least the go ahead to do it myself.

Hit me up on Msn Zsantz plz. ;) in my profile.

Ok, Shellstyle now has white mousovers as opposed to red, the system tray icon issue has been fixed and i have made a Compact start menu substyle w \ shell.

This will all be released tonight along with the finalized vertical taskbars.

Thx for the help in pointing these things out.

You say that as it is a one click process, built in? how would you design a visual style? How would you create a bevel? there nothing "built in" about it. you apparently dont know a thing about Photoshop.

Try sitting 14 hours at a time, individually adjusting dozens of image parameters, from Style to technique, depth direction contours, opacity angles , shading, direction, highlights, etc.. and thats just ONE of over a dozen different categories of image manpulation in just the blending options of Photoshop. Which in itself is only one of hundreds of dfifferent ways to manipluate and build an image.

I really dont take offense to much in my life but frankly i do when someone describes what i do as built in. After i spend countless days (and mostly nights) striving  to produce as good as is possible.

Maybe take some time to sit down with a professional application like PS and then come back and talk to me about built in.

Maybe it looks built in because the graphics look smooth and professional but i can assure it didnt take me over a month to put this together one clicking my way obliviously thru PS.

To all of those that at least recognize the hard work, whether u like it or not, i offer my thanks and appreciation.  ;)

I tried my hand at Styling, and quite frankly it was a gargantuan pain in the arse. My hats off to anyone with the dedication to stick it through.

As for me - I gave up on themes.

You're very kind. Incidentally to clarify my earlier critique. My most difficult issue with the first release is the RED highlight with mouseover ontop of black text, e.g., dialog box buttons, 3D buttons in web pages that use system colors, etc. On the other hand, red highlight text with mouseover on dark blue background as in MY COMPUTER, etc., is a bit hard on eyes but I can live with it. Frankly, it's the dark red hightlight color ontop of black text which is only just barely legibile. Ouch to my eyes.

Anyway, I look forward to your final release and I'm sure I will be grateful for it.

Thanks! :D

the first thing i thought was sustenance.

i'm not sure if it's clean and professional, i mean bevel based websites, bevel based themes, what have you...they've not really "professional"

it's an okay theme, i'm sure you worked hard, but the bevels are something all the kids are doing, it does look kind of automatic.

I'm not sure glossy aspects merge that well with the plasticy bevel bits. the cremes, seem kind og fuzzy..and not crsip, same goes for some of the blue... crisp is good

sorry if the criticism offends you.

Excellent VS. I hope you still have time to make some experimentations. If so what do you think about:

1. A plain blue title bar. I find that the current titlebar is not easily readable when you have several overlapped windows. Try to overlap a few windows, each one having the titlebar slightly below the previous windows. The global effect is a mix of too many horizontal lines.

2. Blue + Green (instead of blue + red)? This is just personal preference. I just imagine that they could go well together.

3. Min, Max, Close buttons: onMouseOver, give them a glossy look with a brighter color?

Thank you very much in advance.
