DannyGlass
Well ive just been checking out the news at designtechnica.com and it is going on about the "Two Finnish overclocking gurus broke the 3dMark world record using a special liquid nitrogen cooling system and two XFX Nvidia cards in SLI-mode." So does this mean that liquid nitrogen cooling for graphics card is the way to go? -DannyGlass Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/301519-liquid-nitrogen-cooling-system/ Share on other sites
AionXn_
i saw the video on this. i dont think you can use it because you need this big thing attached to the cpu. you cant close the case and he computer must lie on its side. i dont know, i havent researched about this enough to know the answer Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/301519-liquid-nitrogen-cooling-system/#findComment-585679830 Share on other sites

Vice
you could set this up in a sealed unit but its not a good idea to use it full stop. its expensive the hardware would not hold out very long and not worth it. use water cooling for day to day use liquid nitrogen is only good for breaking world records. Spyker
yeah, ,its possible and you can do it, its not as diffiuclt as you would imagine, it is still a bit fiddly and dangerous but its douable. Circaflex
also its used just for a few benchmark runs, not 24/7 and its more for your e-penis to be > theirs. If you want extreme cooling go lightspeed or machII, but watch your electric bill shoot up to hell. SkaterAustin
liquid nitrogen isn't illegal, its just that you dont want to come in touch with it unless u want severe frost bite lol and cooling a pc with it requires a holding tank, a tower big enough to handle the heat sinks, and a really really good overclocking and pc modding background. Blimpo
Wouldn't it be impossible? Doesn't liquid nitrogen run out after a certain amount of time? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/301519-liquid-nitrogen-cooling-system/#findComment-585680185 Share on other sites

stncttr908 Veteran Posted March 27, 2005 Veteran Share Posted March 27, 2005 That would be extremely expensive. It's just used for extreme overclocking tests and is not practical for an everyday computer. Vidar
Actually, Cryotech has been around for a very long time. I have messed with one and can personally attest, bad idea in hi-humidity areas.
