I was one of the special top 60 testers that got a complimentary copy of Office 2003 back in November 2003. So, Microsoft does give out gifts to dedicated testers.

Congrats on that! I also ended up in the top 60 Office beta testers :D

I also got Windows XP Pro from another beta, a wireless mouse and 1000$ worth of Microsoft software/books/hardware from another beta - it should arrive this week.

So as long as you are a good puppy - sorry I mean beta tester  - and do what you're told - sorry I meant beta test  - you get rewarded.

(Hey, don't anyone feel ofended by the above sentence.. I was just joking! I love beta testing, but my father keeps saying that they make us work hard for them, and then give us 20$ rewards - that's what an Office 2003 or Windows XP box costs them )

BTW, a Messenger 7 CD would be nice :shifty:

I have been failing a lot lately on my testing, LCS 2005, Windows Server 2003 R2 are two examples. I just don't get much excitement from those products. LCS 2005 is giving me a hell of a time in particular setting up, something with an incompatibility with SharePoint TeamServices MSDE.

Yup Mr Dee I totally know what you mean. Also, the quality of the products it too high, I sometimes don't seem to find bugs. But with MSN Beta, I've found and submitted well over 9 unique bugs. I guess, the smaller the program you have the test, the easier it is you'll find bugs.

I know a MSN Messenger MVP and she gets lots of goodies all the time, lucky *#@~! lol

Well, in those big products you have to look at details... It was what I did with XP SP2, and it is what I'm doing with another product I'm testing.

I file bugs probably no one else in the whole wide world would bother bugging, seeing that they are so small - but they are still bugs.

And about that MSN Messenger MVP... Are you referring to the person I think you're refering to?:

Heh i got this e-mail too i cant imagine they'll reveal anything good for this beta test...all beit successful i think for MS...could mean its ending soon and a public release will come out...but still not possible.

And to those mentioning an IE Beta...why would they send you another beta as a goodie? they might enroll you for the beta yes. but i cant imagine thats is their "goodie"

Who Knows.

Lol, not Nancy, I think thats who you think I was referring to. Someone else :p

no offense but leaking that email really is totally dumb...First you're leaking a MS Beta email, but then you don't even know what it means and finally you 're only making suppositions out of it....

Keep those infos for yourself...as there are no infos at all....

That mail was not informative.

BTW, Remember QFE? why do you think they sent it via postal mail?...just to avoid installer leaks...
