I think it takes a while before you can appreciate Shakespeare's work for what they are - works of genius.

The number of adaptations - including the many periods in which they have been set - are testament to just how good many of his tragedies and comedies are.

Sure, when in school you may hate reading them. My advice? Go see them performed in a good theatre, if not then suffer them in silence and never think of them again.

My favourite is King Lear: A king, evil, scheming kids, madness... it has it all.

If you are going to diss them come back with a reasoned argument instead of saying that they're crap. At least that way you'll have something to tell teacher. ;)

I hadn't said anything either way. But since you asked. I don't like it. And I understand that you have to understand it and all that to appreciate it. But theres a number of things I don't like about his style, topics, ideas behind the topics, and the lack of plot develpment in some cases.
