nexionly
Do you like Shakespeare? By this do you like reading it and doing all that stuff you have to do in school? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/30652-shakespeare/ Share on other sites
cheekymonkey
I think it takes a while before you can appreciate Shakespeare's work for what they are - works of genius. The number of adaptations - including the many periods in which they have been set - are testament to just how good many of his tragedies and comedies are. Sure, when in school you may hate reading them. My advice? Go see them performed in a good theatre, if not then suffer them in silence and never think of them again. My favourite is King Lear: A king, evil, scheming kids, madness... it has it all. If you are going to diss them come back with a reasoned argument instead of saying that they're crap. At least that way you'll have something to tell teacher. ;) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/30652-shakespeare/#findComment-287106 Share on other sites
Deryck
I do very much like Shakespeare, because of the language and style. But the way some schools put it, really boring. Favourites are of Romeo and Juliet and King Lear. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/30652-shakespeare/#findComment-287110 Share on other sites

IlliniPi
I think Shakespeare is kinda hard to understand...I think this is why most people, not including myself, don't like him. We're studying Othello in English and its alright. All his jibber jabber language may be hard to interpret too. Just my thoughts. nexionly
I hadn't said anything either way. But since you asked. I don't like it. And I understand that you have to understand it and all that to appreciate it. But theres a number of things I don't like about his style, topics, ideas behind the topics, and the lack of plot develpment in some cases.
