Replace all default "New tab" actions with new actions you want. Follow instruction.

1. Open your toolbar.ini in any text editor and create NEW button with new action.

Add these lines into your toolbar.ini to any toolbar or panel that you want to add:

ButtonX, "Newpage"="New page, , , "New page" & Go to page, "hтtp://yourserver.domain/your_custom_start_page.html""

(Note: where X is order number of button)

(Note: htтp://yourserver.domain/your_custom_start_page.html - your startup page address)

Always use this button to create new tab. You can remove original "New tab" button now.

2. If you using keyboard shortcut Ctrl+N you can edit your keyboard shortcuts setup:

Set Ctrl+N combination to new action:

New page & Go to page, "htтp://yourserver.domain/your_custom_start_page.html"

3. If you using mouse gestures you can assign GestureDown to new action:

New page & Go to page, "htтp://yourserver.domain/your_custom_start_page.html"

(You can find mouse setup at Preferences - Advanced - Shortcuts - Mouse setup)

Also you can use your_custom_start_page.html located in your computer's disk(localhost). It is faster loads and don't need internet connection. Use file://file_path/file.html address type.

It's work fine. Good look.

Thank you for your post, STNG.

I only got standard_toolbar (1).ini in my Toolbars folder in my Opera profile. Did you mean to edit this one?

My homepage is a custom made page stored on my disk, yes, but has a weather section that is the only thing on the page that needs the internet, when I try to load this page while off the internet, it will automatically hide the weather section. Very useful :)

Wanna see it? See below:

Yes, you must edit your standard_toolbar (1).ini. But don't forget close Opera before!

But! You can use more simple method.

You can use Button Generator - http://mongoose.myopera.net/button_maker.php

Sorry, russian language available only.

Button Generator by Mongoose can easily create button you want. Just fill all fields as on screenshot and drag generated button into any toolbar or panel.
