Friends don't let friends use AIM!

Become the smart friend, once you have it, they will tag along to be able to get in touch with you. At least that's the way it is working out for me. Within a month all of my budies are on messenger now, and then their friends get converted and so on.

well maybe you're right ... but still, i'd like to use AIM. maybe a new version would solve my problems - we shall see. a friend of mine was upgrading his me box to xp and the upgrade advisor says AIM isnt supported by XP officially, so maybe AIM 4.x or 5.0 will be better.

any ideas on what software/hardware would cause the problem in the first place though? its really odd that on one machine it would do that, and on another there's no sign of a mem leak?

Yup, Me, (and some other ppl) also exprianced this problem, which is caused (we think) by AIM making sounds and then not relasing the memory used while playing them back...Its a pain in the a$$...but we havent found a fix yet :(

There were a few threads about this before (some posted my me)...
