Still its not impossible but it will be difficult to accomplish :)

I mean, there's not way in this world that someone mentally capable can be sooooooo stupid to download a malicious piece of code and go through all this sort of complications just to run something that they know will damage a piece of hardware worth $300... :p anyways... that was a good try... hehehe  :p

PyX
Yeah, well I still don't like this idea of creating a very powerful machine for the multimedia. They should have used their powerful hardware in PCs instead of making a console. All I want when I buy a console is to play games, I don't want to listen to music, surf the net, chat with others, etc. BTW, we don't know anything about the Revolution yet because Nintendo doesn't want to get their ideas stolen and I understand them perfectly. Every company is stealing each other's ideas : - EyeToy - RumblePack - DreamCast's controller - Controller buttons (L1, L2, R1, R2) - Hard Disk - Ability to play music - Ability to watch DVDs - Wireless controllers - WiFi - Ability to play online, downloads patches, new maps, etc. - Xbox360 can now stand vertically like the PlayStation2... And you know the worst of it? Some dudes from either Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo invent a technology, then their rivals just steal their technology, invest lots of money in it and reinvent it to make it better, then they release it some weeks after and they take every possible credit out of it... You do know games are classified under multimedia, right? Gaming consoles are turning in to multimedia stations, and Sony was actually the first one to take a stride in to it (maybe Sega did it first; I can't remember) by playing music CDs on the PlayStation, then DVDs on the PlayStation 2. Microsoft is only evolving this in to something extremely usable. I don't have a DVD player, so I'm glad my Xbox is doing it for me. I like being able to have one PC as a media storage and be able to access my files from anywhere in the house, or being able to watch my recorded shows anywhere. I also like being able to play games when I'm in the mood, and Xbox 360 is giving me that privilege as well. It's a sweet deal for a $300 machine. Spartan_X
AKQA, a global interactive marketing agency, has collaborated with Microsoft to create the striking new console game interface at the heart of the Xbox 360, the most powerful next-generation game and entertainment system. The interface, which includes the Xbox Dashboard and Xbox Guide, combines simplicity and ease-of-use with cutting-edge design to deliver a fast, integrated, intuitive and modular experience. ?The Xbox 360 user interface provides an elegant way to take total control of Xbox 360 quickly and easily. The exciting reaction from customers during usability sessions worldwide highlights the power of the Xbox 360, its universal interface and design working seamlessly,? said Russ Glaser Group UI Design Manager at Xbox. To arrive at the new Xbox 360 player interface, Microsoft and AKQA formed a multidisciplinary team of user experience, interaction design, user insight and behavior specialists, who built several functioning prototypes, working hand-in-hand with the Xbox 360 industrial design team. In-depth testing of the prototypes followed, with immersive workshops, usability sessions and interviews with customers taking place worldwide. The prototypes were then refined and re-tested. Spartan_X
At least Sony and Nintendo (especially Nintendo) are trying to keep their console a real one, they don't want it to become a computer... 585951829[/snapback] are you sure of that? :p "The PlayStation [3] is not a game machine. We've never once called it a game machine," stated Kutaragi at the beginning of his latest interview. "The PS3 is the product we have been aiming for since the establishment of SCEI," said Kutaragi. "We haven't been creating our [past] PlayStations for the sake of games. Our belief, and the motivation behind running our company, has been to [explore ways of] applying the power of computers to entertainment and enjoyment. We equipped the original PlayStation with a 3D graphics chip, and we equipped the PS2 with the Emotion engine. The PS3 isn't designed to lean towards games. It's not a computer for children. In the sense that our goal has been [to create] a computer that's meant for entertainment, you could say that the original PlayStation and PlayStation 2 had existed as steps towards the PlayStation 3." those words came from Ken Kutaragi... you can read the full interview here... pdog
gonna look good on my 109 in HDTV projector. Only thing is, what do you think the range would be on those controllers? I'll have to run two extra wires to the reciever if i wanna use hd. Also, can I get 5.1 sound with just rca, or does it have to be digital? xplatinum
Really, REALLY nice screens. Lovely, thank you. I never really understood the point in putting a 'eject' button on a remote control... you still have to get up to remove/insert another optical disc...
