24 Season 5 Discussion

just need to say this cause its bothering me. Why the hell did edgar get the silent treatment and not Tony. Tony deserved it.

Because with Edgar 40% of CTU's staff died. Not just one man. Besides Tony had it coming by trying to kill someone.

Tony is a good guy. His reaction under extreme condition makes 24 more believable.... How many people can be like Jack? They should save Tony as Jack trusts Tony and vice versa..... Trust is key and we all know that. I am really not looking foward to seeing the Homeland Security coming in and already worrying about not having full control of CTU. Shouldn't they worry about how to help CTU function again? If Homeland Security can do the job, why not just do the job at their own office. Why even bother going to CTU? This is stupid and does not make sense.

Has anyone else been searching through google earth in hopes of finding the spot on the map from the 5.14 preview?

This map if you don't know what I'm talking about:

This map if you don't know what I'm talking about:

looks like a power plant...maybe releasing nerve gas into gas pipes?...anyone found out where it is yet? :o

Can someone explain what a silent clock is? Is that when it does the final countdown without the sound effect tick-tock noise?

As for the pipe place...looks like the beginning of this season where Jack meets Chloe or maybe even Season 1 lol

I've been looking for the places as well. It is an industrial area just by the looks. but i donno how that would affect a lot of people like what they are saying about releasing all of the canisters there. What do you think that big white building is at the bottom? Looks like a basketball stadium but I can't remember which one I think it is. but then again there is no huge parking area around it.

From what I've read, the attack spot in the 5.14 preview is

LAX

I don't see any place that looks like that there or in the surrounding area though (at least on Google Earth)

I don't think so. Now unless they added a silent clock to the DVD, there was no silent clock in Season 4.

I only watched it on the dvd lol

Is it just me or does it look like there are two maps there, one overlapping the other? Notice how the roads don't match up correctly on the right.

If this is the case then this map may not be a real place...

EDIT:Ok, ignore me, just rewatched the preview, it is two maps overlapping each other :/

Yes, it is when there is no noise on the final countdown. I have noticed it before. Usually at critical times when someone dies. The first time I noticed it was on Season 3 on DVD after Jack killed Chappell. I didn't remember them doing that again until Edgar died but apparently it happened after Audry's husband died according to other posts. It very dramatical... :)

i was thinking more along the lines of the storage facilities around

lax

. However, the death toll of 200,000 seems too much for just attacking that place. Since in the trailer we see

martial law being enforced

i'm starting to think its something running throughout the city. Maybe a

water plant or other utility???

. Although, it seems that

lax

would be a place to keep kim in play since

didn't barry have to catch a plane?

I don't think it is a

water plant

, as I don't think the gas can get into the

water

even if they wanted to.

Where else is there a major concentration of people in a relatively closed off area where all of the leftover gas can be released? A sports stadium is too obvious of a target and won't be a factor with martial law happening. Ditto with the subway.

There has to be some type of twist...of course there will be, it is 24!

hmm, would a

natural gas plant

work?

only if they want to make a little fire =P

hmm on second thought..maybe if they mix it with the natural gas and the nerve gas doesn't get destroyed at the flame at homes..that would be a very good way to distribute the nerve gas..
