Faster for slower processors :) Windows ain't using my Pentium III 450 MHz to it's full potential. And don't say, "Well a Pentium III 450 MHz is CRAP nowerdays," because BeOS give me DOUBLE the framerates in some of todays modern games...

Option to stop popups from certain sites.

Option to hide a picture

Download manager [extension] - better support for downloading / resuming files.

Windows:

Program for making skins.

M$ basic antivirus program.

Built-in PDF viewer.

More games [like Spider Solitaire].

Fully featured screenshot taker [for desktop only - not games].

3D tests [like the DXDiag tests].

FTP program [similar to CuteFTP Pro].

Other programs:

Media Player - Faster loading. Better choice of visualisations. Full DivX 3.xx and 4.xx support.

MovieMaker - DivX compression save option.

-Re-introduce the Customizable Explorer Bars

-Add language packs, so one doesn't have to re-download the browser in another language

-Enable Internet Keywords

-Add theme capability

-Less buttons (Because there are too many in Internet Explorer and they drive me up the wall!)

-REPAIR THOSE DARNED ACTIVEX CONTROLS, ESPECIALLY MICROSOFT WINDOWS UPDATE!

That's not all for Internet Explorer, but those are the main ones! I'll mention the necessary changes for Windows and Other Programs later! :)

1 word: customization.. you should need 3rd party software to do it, and it should be difficult, like rooting through the registry..

Here's what I would like changed in Windows (Since Windows 98/Me)! However, some of those changes might already be in Windows XP.

-Remove the Blue Screen of Death! :dead:

-Disable certain types of Wizards (Especially the Scanner & Camera Wizard) !

-Unclutter the taskbar by grouping windows of the same program!

-Increase the stability!

-Allow users to choose the updates necessary using the Automatic Updates program.

-Unclutter the system tray so only 3 or so icons can be shown at a time!

-Allow users to display seconds and/or date besides having to look up the date with the tooltip!

-Decrease the cluster size if desired (to about 8K or 4K), to prevent disk space being wasted!

-Disable integration of Internet Explorer with Windows if desired.-Debug New Hardware Wizard (Caused problems with my HSP56 MicroModem).

For the other programs :

Netscape

-Add availability to use all fonts; not just Variable, Fixed, Arial, Courier New, and Times New Roman; when typing up e-mails or editing web sites!

-Add ActiveX support.

-Add support for HTTP Mail Servers for Netscape Mail.

-Re-insert the Print Preview feature.

-Add file management utilities to rival Windows Explorer.

-Add Stationery

Outlook Express

-Allow e-mail to be sent in both HTML and Plain Text, not just one or the other.

-Get the blasted Spell Check and Block Sender functions to work when managing Hotmail accounts!

-When writing messages, allow users to use any account, not just the default e-mail account, to send messages from that computer.

-Allow users to create more efficient message filters. (OE6 just allows you to block senders).

-Increase the number of available background colours from 16 to all 16.7 million.

-Allow users to switch paragraph types (Eg. Header 2, Paragraph, etc. !

-REMOVE THOSE BLASTED ADS, AOL!

-Allow integration with MSN Messenger and AIM accounts.

-Store the contact lists on the server, so one doesn't have to back them up!

There are a lot more application suggestions that I got, but I will never be able to complete the list since I will always find new bugs! :D
