nekrosoft13
ok this wendsday i'm moving to a new house in a diffrent city. i'm kind of excited, but i'm also mad. there is no high speed internet access there :dead:. and so far there is no work on when there will be broadband. i have few choices 1) satellite -- faster then dial-up, bit slower then cable and dsl. $500 installation, and $69 a month. high ping, comes with a extra dial-up support too (if needed) 2) dial-up -- extreme slow (especially when you had cable for 2 years) no installation charge, about $20 a month (not aol) high ping, and second line and calling charges 3) be internet less  so what should i do help i'm confused NOTE: i probobly won't be online for a week or two, maybe longer, not sure yet. my cable will get disconnected tomorrow (June, 18, 2002) LATER NEOWIN, and ALL MEMBERS Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/32791-moving-problems/ Share on other sites

Go satalite, its fast enough, just high pings. Dialup would just be too hard to go back to; however, you may have to live with it. Roger H. Veteran Posted June 18, 2002 Veteran Share Posted June 18, 2002 no matter wha, i just couldn't go back to 56K. I seriously rather not go on the net that much, I'd really miss NeoWin but other than that i wouldn't be encoraged enough to get online. I'd go for Satalite but that's way high compared to my 39.99 for a 10Mbit cable line.. DerkPY
Ask the local phone company about the satellite. They can probably cut you a good deal, if you pay them for phone calls. nekrosoft13
local phone companys don't over satellite. its earthlink, and it a dual way satellite, so there is no phone like at all, the dish receives and sends but i might go with wireless, i just found it Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/32791-moving-problems/#findComment-313231 Share on other sites

Apollo
well if you can spend the money on the satellite connection i think it would be nice but if not go for 56ks it's not that bad although now that i have cable i wouldn't even think going back to it!
