Jackie Chan ROCKS ! ive got most of his films compared to Jet Li, which i think ive got about 3 films of his........ :)

I saw him once at a movies award ceremony at the Millennium Dome in London which is not very far from where i live, and he is a lot shorter than he really looks.......... :p

Radish.

P.S

He was a student of Bruce Lee (looking for info to prove)

I think u first see Jackie in a Bruce Lee film trying to attack Bruce Lee, and then Bruce fly - kicks him out the window and he lands on a stone floor......... :ninja:, that was Jackie's first ever stunt, i just can't remember the name of the film............ :(

Jet Li ( ?????? ) made a lot of martial arts movies before he became famous in the west. Unlike Jackie, he went to the national martial art academy in Beijing and later won the gold medal in the Chinese national Wu Shu competition. Back in the 80s, he and some other students were taught by the best Wu Shu masters in China privately, this was a movement to preserve the Chinese Martial Art, during those years, he learned Tai Chi and many other famous styles of martial art.

I think he is the only famous actor in the world that does real Chinese Martial Art today, i say "famous" because some of his old classmates were better than him, but they never played major roles in movies.

My vote goes to Jet Li.

He has more potential of becoming the great actor. His plus will be his amazing martial arts skills. I said his skills is better than Jackie Chan.

While Jackie Chan is sometime funny, but Jet Li is much more serious in acting.

Read my first post. Jet Li had been the WuShu champion in China 8 or 9 times before he even became a movie star. He is the only person in China to ever have done this. His martial art credentials are much higher than Jackie Chan has. Li has earned his reputation and, by his credentials, makes him one of the greatest martial artists ever in China.

BTW, I think a Bruce Lee vs Jet Li (both in their prime) would have been more interesting. Or, better yet either of them against Ken Shamrock or Mike Tyson both of whom claimed to be the best fighters in the world during their prime.

Note: Sorry I was getting WuShu and Wing Chun mixed up in earlier post.

I don't believe it, it doesn't sound like Jackie (I don't know him personally, but what I have read and seen bio's on him and it doesn't add up). People are jealous and like make up stories... IMHO

Yeah, i am sure my cousin made this up because she has something against him or something

Easily Jet Li.. I've seen most of Jackie's movies and own most of all but one (I'm in the US and we have to wait for the old Li movies to come into DVD) Jet Li movie.

Personally, I don't find Jackie Chan funny [shrug] and I've yet to see a film where Jackie hasn't hurt *himself* screwing up a stunt.

Jet Li is a more serious actor and Wu Shu championship aside, even his movies show a more refined and very crisp style. As for pitting them against one another, I believe Li's movie "Meltdown" is a perfect parody of Jackie Chan.

If it were possible (and death tends to make it impossible), a Bruce Lee vs. Jet Li would kick ass. As for the wires, I'd say it would be Woo's choice and not Li's. Woo is a lover of the wires (see Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; The Legend; or the Matrix).

Chou Young Fat (Sorry if I misspelled his name) is a nice martial arts actor as well. A Jet Li & Chou team up would make for a killer movie (wasn't there a Wu Shu film with both in it? I could sweart here was).

Perhaps it's you better to see Jet Li's movies (before his US debut) such as "Once Upon A Time In China" series...and you'll see why Jet Li much better than Jackie Chan.

I would have to go with Jacko - he's funny. I would vote for Brandon Lee (Rapid fire) because his fight scenes were more realistic. Some of the fancy stuff makes me laugh because I know it's not humanly possible without a mechanical aid. :china: one more note: Frank Duc (?) several records holder.

My classmates and I had this discussion in school a few months ago. I like Jackie, he represents the true essence of the martial arts. Jet Li needs special effects to make his fighting seem interesting, but Jackie can just improvise.

On a side note, didn't Jet Li passed up on The Matrix sequels?

hands down, jackie chan.... i mean comon jackie chan was a stunt dubble for bruce lee. read his biography.

i don't even want to go into this, but Jackie Chan would wip Jet Li's ass, and i do like Jet li, in a way acually his fight sceenes are btter, but in reality, jackie all the way and any day
