Favourite Grand Theft Auto?

Vice City is just soo cool, but San Andreas from the looks of it (I got it but haven't had the time to play more than 20 minutes due to exams) looks even better and well-made.

GTA1 is the best

GTA2 was crap

GTA3 nice, try but with horrible handing, NO AI!! and bad textures, its a POS game

VICE, same as GTA3 sight improvement

SAN same as GTA3, STILL NO AI, and a slight move backwards in graphics compared to VICE

I dont know why people are saying VC looks better than San Andreas, the buildings details, the streets (hard to notice when your speeding), cars, heat effects, ect. The people may not look all that good but most of everything else does.

and about the gang theme in San Andreas or as most of you call it "gangsta", same as GTA 3. Mob and street gangs. Vice City? same Cuban gangsters and you take control forming your own gang in the story. But oh no it "gangsta" and some dont like that. And its not all that "gangsta" people throughout the game, nice story some off beat funny stuff from Catilina and Woozie.

for me it was vice city just because it was an improvement from GTA 3 and i got bored by the series when san andreas came out

I'm old school, I like GTA2 the best, I dunno, I just enjoyed the old stuff more than what's out now.

P.S. there is a GTA for the GBA?

I liked GTA3 because I like mafia type games. I'm not a graphics nut so they didn't bother me. I also liked that the main character never spoke so when you had a mission cutscene, they got right to the point. No long conversations. The revenge theme was nice also when you had to get Catalina for shooting you in the face. Felt good when I finished it. :)

My favorite wud have to be GTA 2 because thats what got me hooked on to the series. It is quite unfair to diss any other game in the series.....beacuse they were all great games III, VC & SA. The best thing about this was the story were connected and u get to see that in SA. How Tommy made things happen in SA (Rosenberg, Ken the brit and the two mechanics) and we also got to see our hero from gta III in SA (the name is Claude Speed by the ways) and we also met Catalina(fiesty). neways the whole point is that the whole series was great and the best thing is i felt part of a constant universe.

I prefer the old classics so I'm going with GTA2 its true to the original format but just improved the graphics and size of the game so for me it'll always be the best.

OMG I hated 2, no matter where you went a gang was shooting at you, there was no such thing as civilians anymore. Complete BS, a failure IMO. My favorite would probably be the first GTA in a close race with GTA3, the 2 gta's where they didn't screw up the formulas. Unfortunately I've never played london, so I can't comment on those. But the original GTA was like the best game I ever played on my Pentium 75 back in the day.

GTA:VC and SA are alright but feel like rehashes of GTA3 over and over again. (improved of course, but not enough to beat out an original)

I didnt like the birdseye view of GTA 1+2.

GTA3 was just amazing. But then Vice City came out and had parts you would like to have seen in GTA3 in it. Overall though GTA3 just for its wow factor for when it was released. I love games that have lots of detail in. They can keep a game alive long after completing it.

GTA2 was wicked loved the gangs etc, graphics were great as well... GTA3 was the mark of all when it was released but then Vice City took it straight out was then the best for its great story lines and great graphics... now San Andreas, flopped on the graphics side (ps2) but the story line and the involvement of the character in the game is Great.. My vote goes to San Andreas...:D

I've played Vice City over again like three times. Yeah, Vice City is my favorite, and like someone said above it would be nice if it was as feature-rich as SA, except still Vice City.

I concur. SA takes itself a little to thugsta for me. I like the glitz, and the color, the feel o vice city. Plus, its funnier.
