high cpu usage

Question

hi im getting abnormally high cpu usage as you can see in the pic below caused by a combined 3 processes.

ccApp which belongs to Symantec.

explorer.exe and System

i dont know whats causing it. symantec isnt doing a scan so it shouldnt be that high

i did virus scan which took forever and it didnt find anything. i also did a adaware scan and nothing.

i dont know whats causing it. disabling symantec av doesnt stop the high cpu usage either

Hmm I'm guessing something is happening to your files, like an app is moving them around?

Because explorer would update when this happens and your virus protection would have to scan it.

Maybe no though because I don't know how that could happen.

you dont need norton to be running.

explorer.exe, you need running, dont confuse with iexplore.exe :p

and firefox.. watch how many tabs you open... keep it to a minimum, or 1 window.. and you should bring it down a tad.

yea seems symantec is giving problems on my comp.  i have tried client security 2 and 3.  they both do the same thing.  reinstalling doesnt help so i dont know whats wrong.  i guess ill have to look for another av/firewall software combo

i think you might find it better going for the last resort, since norton products are bloatware, not worthy for you to use (create more frustration than the otherwise). ccApp is the auto-protect and email protection process, disable your auto protect(like Pwn3r said) to see if the usage goes down, or else, just go Avast! for free AV or NOD32/Kaspersky for paid AV.
