Of course I still prefer to read real book. What happen if computer is broken or Windows crashed? Can't read ebook right? :D

The real book is much better! Ebook still far away, maybe even 50 yrs later into extinction (maybe, but just my prediction) :D

I can fit around 6000 1MB ebooks on my laptop HDD, 6gig... going for an upgrade very soon... I can run it on a battery, and plug it in when I have to recharge...

I definitely enjoy reading real books more, but ebooks are far more covenient, they save paper, ink, and the cost of production which makes them cheaper than real books...

Inevitably we will all be using ebooks, as we will have to preserver our forests to promote clean air!

I prefer real books, but I think universities will start using ebooks more and more. Profs can mix and match chapters from different books, and it's very useful for the students to have full text search.

I would not do it on my PC, though. Only one of these:

That may be the wave of the future (like StarTrek) but I would give it 40-50 years to be fully implemented.

ebooks!

I mean would u want to read it  or have the comp read it to you?

I had my mac read me enders game!

Plus with ebooks people with bad eyes can zoom in on text and on pics ;)

you had the computer read you enders game ?!? that is by far the best book i have ever read... the bourne identity coming in a close second... and you went and had your computer read it to you... i couldn't do that.. it just wouldn't be the same... i think i wouldn't enjoy the book as much... but to each his own, right?

as for the poll... i prefer actual books... else my eyes start to get all messed up..(when i start to read, i tend not to stop... i have read enders game in a sitting before, and half of the bourne identity was in on sitting as well... long sittings, but sittings none the less)

I find the real book is so much better. When I get the electronic version of a book I purchased, I always read the paper version. I get a headache when I try to read it on the screen. I find I read the material faster when its on paper as well. I guess until we get virtual paper that I can flip through or until the Osmosis theory actually works (sorry to let you down, tried it doesn't work), I will stick to reading the book on paper.

REAL books for this girl!!!

An ebook can't fell the same way a real book. Something about turning the pages, the feel of the pages, holding it in your hands, trying to get your cat to not lay in it while you read...

I tried an ebook once. Just didn't feel right.

:D:D:D:D:D:D

for the time being, real books are still the best on the eyes, but anyone in school will tell you they would LOVE to get that sack of books off their back. once screens get better and cheaper, hopefully school systems will see the benefits and move to ebooks. 1 little pad with all your textbooks instead of 10lb calculus book, etc! t'would be great i say! :)

I would have to agree with you on that note. I remember carrying a **** load of books on my back between classes. I just hated that. I can't wait what the future will bring in terms of this up and coming technology.
