Jesus guys, you are not kids  , either you compy with WGA, either you don't - decide allready; you know our opinion, you know the dangers, so decide.

I have to agree to with this opinion..

This doesn't make sense..

By the way, listen.. Magazines have in CD's and DVD's they sell, hotfixes for the home user install without going to windows update, why can't you release the hotfixes pack..?? ;)

Great job guys, and please don't quit.. :)

To avoid confusion I think it would be a good idea to explicitly list the files to download from Microsoft. I did a double check with the updated list of critical updates on page one and couldn't find KB899591 anywhere. Then I checked for empty folders after instaling the update and KB899591 was listed.

So here is my list for all those who are unsure:

KB893756

KB896423

KB896727

KB899587

KB899588

KB899591

I hope this list is complete (I couldn't find any other empty folders)

Edit: Autopatcher doesn't work anymore after the update: Module panic (see attachment)

Those are not the only solutions available. I know you would like this WGA issue to be resolved as soon as possible, but so do we. For all you know, we could be having dinner with Microsoft to discuss AP and WGA (only joking!).

Raptor, with all due respect, just do it. If MS have a problem, they'll send Cease and Disists before taking any action.

I know I've been in two teams issued with C&Ds

It's not only /Raptor that is involved with this project. If it was only /Raptor........then he would continue as it is.

No doubts about that!

Seems some modules are cross linked? (Same unique ID)

Module Panic KB887742

I get the same module panic notice as bodel007, then autopatcher closes (It says I'm running professional, but actually I'm running Home, but that's a minor point).

I checked the 887742 MS file but it appears to be correct for XP SP2 (same MD5 as a freshly downloaded copy).

I tried with a) remove the file from KB887742 folder, b) remove the KB887742 folder, got the same message.

Then I also removed the files kb887742.amc and kb887742.lst from critical folder; then AP opened without error message, of course KB887742 is then not listed.

Is there a bug in one or other of those files?

I do actually have KB887742 installed on my system when it was offered and installed by Windows Update on 23 Feb, so it is compatible with my OS (XP SP2 home).

PS, Bodel 007: If you still haven't got KB 899591, for XP SP2, it's here:

What is this August 2005 sillyness? It's not a release, it's instructions to manually update. Rename this thread back because it is as confusing as heck. Just make a seperate thread with instructions on how to update until WGA is sorted. I almost downloaded July again.

I just thought the exact same...

Well, I adressed it to him since he's the project manager, but I'm aware it's not Raptor alone.

indeed. I agree

after installing autopatcher , seem like there is no longer an entry to access localhost...i have tried to ping 127.0.0.1...its work..but stil cannot access...an error msg prompt out state that "the connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost"..pls help...appreaciate a lot.. :) ...mayb it's a wrong place to post this..but really urgent thx..so sorry..

I can't find the August Module update pack. Can someone point me to it? I think this is an excellent idea. I would recommend that it only be done for Windows XP SP2 release of Autopatcher. And before anyone starts crying foul I will state for the record that all my computers (that's ALL 11 of them) run Win2k. I think it makes more sense to support the predominant operating system, which beyond a doubt is XP.

I hardly ever say anything and never post, but in reading through the threads, I think this project has reached a point where those who agree that it should continue should join forces to continue providing it, and those who don't should walk away. Seems to make more sense than having an endless stream of back and forth.

My 2 cents worth, and now I will slip back into my solitude.

ech, odrazu widać że rodak, nie szło jakoś po ludzku napisać ?
