The other match has been delayed by rain. Venus pulled off the upset against Sharapova in straight sets. 7-6(7-2), 6-1. I was rooting for the Russian but now, I'll pull for Venus in the final whether she faces Davenport or Mauresmo. And maybe at her prime Venus was better than Maria but IMO Venus isn't anymore. I mean she may still win a tournament here or there but Maria will be more consistent in reaching the later rounds if not winning the whole thing. This could become a great rivalry if Roddick ever wins one. It's like the Ynaks and Sox were until last year. They were only rivals nominally beuase the Yanks always won when it mattered. Pulling for A-Rod as usual. I hope he at least makes it a good match. Federer made Hewitt look like an amateur. It was a great display of excellent tennis. That one 25 stroke rally decided the match I think. Didn't expect such a great match. I hope the men's final can live up to this.
