He has played for numerous teams and has won numerous championship rings , he has also made almost all the big shots for almost all the big games . He is getting old but he still is a big influence on teams . Well it doesn't matter if you don't start in a game it just matters how you play . Just like Ben Gordon on the Bulls he's the sixth man . BroChaos Veteran Posted June 26, 2005 Veteran Share Posted June 26, 2005 i think it's more of a tough question...but damn, you can't deny 6 rings. what were horry's numbers like in the regular season? because to get the chance for the big shot, you have to get there first. you need a team who's good enough to get to the playoffs without horry... if he was on my team, i'd expect a more consistent output. i guess horry is the equivalent of a good place kicker on an nfl team... mattmatik Posted June 28, 2005 Share Posted June 28, 2005 I would love to have him on my team if I had someone who could demand double-teams and was a dominant NBA post player (Tim Duncan, Shaq, Amare Stoudemire). If I had a team like the Bulls, who has very athletic players but is more of a perimeter-oriented team then I don't think he would fit. Horry is a great role-player but he needs great players around him to make him great; he and Rick Fox are alot alike, although Horry is a much better defender. He could never be a go-to guy, though, or dependable for an entire season. But, he is a quality person on and off the court, is a winner, and has veteran smarts and experience. That said, offensively they have the same type of game: hang out around the perimeter, wait for the double-team on the post, get open for a 3. Horry does have way better defensive skills, which is where the comparisons end. But, that is why I compared them.
