A runway at Area 51 is much longer. It goes across groom lake.

I don't believe that is a runway across the lakebed.

Exactly, it makes you wonder what it is...I dont believe in the alien stuff, but what is it.

Check out Washington, D.C. on Google Maps.

The Capitol Building and a couple of surrounding buildings are heavily pixelated, they are obviously out of focus compared to nearby buildings.

The White House and the office buildings on either side of it have had their roofs blocked out and shaded showing nothing at all.

They used to have an ultra-high res shot of the groom lake area on something.. I wonder what happened to it...

^ that was a tiny pic that I kept on my PSP over time of an unexpected format (lost the high res one :()

I don't think it's tarmac runway either. It is possible it's a unmade runway or run off.

The accepted story now is Aurora was a failed project and the aircraft no longer flys. I understand they have moved onto bigger and better things.

First of all, there aren't any aliens... Those "dents" are actualls little mounded up areas to hide a vehicle in. Ever see how Saddam hid his tanks? That helps avoid radar detection. There are also missile silos at Area 51.

Until theres proof, i wont believe you, i like to think there are aliens :D

The runway @ Groom Lake ( :alien: Area 51 :alien: ) is aprox. 6 miles long. This makes it the longest runway in the world. Two shuttle spacecraft can land (one on each end), not use their brakes and still have a m ile between them when they come to a full stop.

damn, thats long.

Imagine to run your bike there

Aurora is an experimental secret hypersonic spyplane.

Hypersonic Spy Plane

This site seems to fall into the "evil government conspiracy site" but it will give you an overview of what has been leaked/found out. If you notice the info posted is basically from 1998, 7 years ago...a lifetime in aircraft technology.

I have read, from less than classified sources, that the aircraft eventually proved to be more trouble than it was worth. The technology involved in producing hypersonic speeds didn't seem to enjoy the airframe it was mated with.

Having been out there Area 51 is a massive place. The runway is about 12 miles long but for most of the time it is underwater.

I went out to Freedom Ridge just before the US Govt. bought all that land to keep people off Freedom Ridge.

It's a super secret place that I've had the pleasure of seeing.

Here's a list of things I've seen (Place wise)

NSA

Quantico, VA (FBI and CIA training)

Area 51

Offutt, A.F.B. (all the USAF Cryptos and hackers work here)

Edwards A.F.B.

Pentagon

and NORAD, in Cheyenne Mt., CO.

Having been through those places, you begin to respect the community of secrecy, it's cool stuff.
