The Tour de France

Well it starts today. I'm going to follow it as closely as I can. Anyone else? I hope Armstrong can go out on top. Personally, I think the guy single-handedly made the event matter for people here in the States. Hopefully, his effect will last after his retirement.

http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/tdf2005/news/story?id=2100254 It's from yesterday but today's capturing of the yellow jersey by Lance may only make it a more appropriate question. Maybe he just trained like hell and wanted to go out with total dominance.

yet another great race today. I especially liked the ending and massive pile up :p kinda feel sorry for Mengin who was in front of pelaton for so long and then felt only 700m to finish. Bernucci who won first professional race must be feeling damn lucky though :D

well Aussie robbie Mcewen won once again. damn he is a good sprinter. i was sorta hoping that one of german riders like Jan Ulrich will make a move but unfortunately he didnt.

as always tehre were some crashes, once when crossing railway tracks and other near finish and that looked painfull.

lance is the greatest :p

merkx was a doper.

doesn't lance usually start out pretty slow, and then smoke them in the mountains?  if he's already in first...thats not a good sign for the rest of the field.

Yeah, Lance is known for dominating in the mountains, when everyone else can't keep up.

bloody amazing how Peter Weening won against Andreas Kloden by only .0002 seconds :| or 2 milimiters :p

i am so glad Ulrich lifted himself to 6th place overall. now he has chance against armstrong :D

anyway amazing race today, with great climbs anddownhill descents at 80km/h :p

^ Looks like it was a tie to me. :p

Which is why you aren't a judge

Nah, it looks close to me, too. But I wouldn't expect to be able to tell the difference between .0002 seconds in a bike race, no matter how fast they can pedal (that's humanly possible :p).
