Pentagon monitored flight

Several Air Force and Air National Guard fighter jets, plus an AWACS radar control plane, helped the Federal Aviation Administration track the runaway Learjet and estimate when it would run out of fuel.

And officers on the Joint Chiefs were monitoring the Learjet on radar screens inside the Pentagon's National Military Command Center.

Two armed Air Force F-16 air defense fighters were placed on alert at Fargo just moments before the Learjet crashed, but they were never ordered to take off.

i'm sorry...jet's were scrambled from va to intercept the plane that crashed in pa....it's known that they broke mach to get there....they were scrambled outta va and got to pa in less that 10 min....there were fighters escorting the pa plane....

This kind of things happen in Iraq/Afghanistan everyday, American and British foreign policies are only provoking more people. Muslim fundamentalists believe terroism is the only method since they have no hope on the battlefield. Maybe US/UK should stop invading other countries, to Muslims their religion is more important than freedom, they don't want to see U.S advocating its culture in their Islamic country.

You'r right about not going near DC.  But his plane was almost shot down because it strayed course because of pilot problems.

My point I was making is that on 9-11 they seemed to not watch the sky when it counted.

You apparently don't know the consequences of a (mostly) aluminum object striking a very strong building (the Pentagon).

Its very hard for me not to believe that it was a setup. The main reason besides Bush's ties to the middle East is that i have a friend that was in college and had a middle eastern roomate. One week before the attack she was called by her mother and told to come home immediately because something big was going to happen...Now if her parents were aware of this how could our governmetn not be?

What are you talking about? Did you miss all the pictures of the plane bits and pieces in the Pentagon?

Plus it's a fact that the flight dissapeared. Are you trying to tell me that the government hijacked the plane, hid it in a secret location, shot a missle at the Pentagon, killed all the people on the plane, and scattered bits and pieces of destroyed plane parts in the Pentagon? Why the hell would they do that? Not to mention the large number of people that would have to know about it and not say anything.

I could MAYBE understand the argument that the government hijacked the planes and crashed them, but the argument that it wasn't a plane that hit the Pentagon is just absurd and doesn't make a bit of sense.

Though I'm not from USA, I'm worried because it WILL happen again, and therefore people WILL die.

From the viewpoint of others (I'm not actually saying this a wrong viewpoint btw) USA are "invading" other people's territory which has proven in the past to lead to retaliation. When you try to enforce your way of thinking on another way of life/another civilisation some people will NOT be happy.

Even if i'm not from USA but i would say the USA have had there share of terrorist attacks at the momment. USA / SPAIN / UK have had big big terrorist attacks so its just a matter of who's next.

They say Denmark / Italy is next but i hope they arent as it be horrible to hear more people have died.

Remember its easier for the terrorist to attack countries in Europe then it is in the USA as from 9/11 USA have step up security and nothing as big as 9/11 has happen.

I've had a good laugh reading this thread. One thing comes to mind.

Some of you people need to put an extra layer of tinfoil around your heads,

Here's how I see it. I believe September 11th was all real. Do I believe that our government sent the planes into the building for an excuse to rage war? Absolutely not. That is rediculas to even think such a thing. Do I believe some facts were hidden? Of course. The fact of the matter is that it happened, and there terrorists caused it. Bush did the right thing going after Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan. He also did the right thing by destroying Saddam's resigme(spe?), because they were ruthless killers themselves. They killed their own people. Now whatever else Bush's motives were at Iraq, he did a good deed.

So, do I think there will be another terrorist attack on the US? Not anytime soon and if it did happen, not to the magnitude of 9/11. As others have said, the next target will most likely be a US ally.
