stncttr908: Where do you find out all these bands and stuff? I usually look for offshoots of the Power metal genre, but a lot of times I find stuff that isn't to my taste :/

I get that question a lot, whether it be from friends, forums, etc.

Basically I read a lot of reviews, which in turn mention a lot of similar bands. Also, sites like Metal Storm (in sig) and Encyclopaedia Metallum list tons of bands by genre, related bands, etc.

By the way, Metal Review has an interview with Decapitated's new vocalist, Covan.

Yeah, I like metalreview. I'm gonna check out the encyclopedia (Y)

As for decapitated's new album, I can't wait.

@waddle5000: Lucky you! I should have gone to see them when they came here  my buddy saw them and they unbelievable.

the band that first got me into metal was probably ill nino, followed closely by pantera

currently ill nino and soil are my favorites

Dig deeper. There's better stuff under that dry outer crust you're currently experiencing.

Went over to finntroll's website ...

29.01.2006 Bye, and thanks for all the fish...

With a heavy heart I bring you the following news: In a band meeting one hour ago I was fired as a singer of Finntroll. Reasons are many and for the most part private, but personal differences and lack of discussion have led my bandmates to doubt my commitment for this band. I believe this will be discussed widely in the following days and more info will undoubtedly be out soon for your viewing pleasure. I will only say the following: These past three years have been the best times of my life and I want to thank all the friends I've gained from this, crews past and present, supporters who came to our shows and shared the good and the bad times. I will always cherish you in my heart. Thanks for my now ex-bandmates for sharing this experience with me. Life goes on and wounds will heal. The future remains to be seen.

Thank all of you and see you sometime, somewhere.

anyone else gutted ?

i like krisiun's newest. rockage to the eXtreme.

I agree. It took me a bit to get into, but it's some decent stuff. (Y)

To add to it, the friends I would of gone with got to smoke a bowl with the guys from Decapitated on their tour bus.

Hah, that's awesome. While I don't smoke myself, I know the band has a well-documented affinity for the stuff. After all, their newest album is called "Organic Hallucinosis."
