Man, I haven't been here forever and it seems like this thread is dead.

Anyways, I've been listening to the new Darkest Hour and I'll admit it's pretty good. Not really better or worse than their last album but right on par. I was a little skeptical at how it would turn out without Kris Norris in the band.

Definitely looking forward to BTBAM's new album in October. Also, Dream Theater's new album is pretty ######.

Not sure if anyone's heard of this band, but the new album by Hardcore Superstar: Beg for it, is great. They are known as a glam metal band but they are really much, much heavier than that now.

I just got an older album... Pulver by a band Life Lover. They are a black metal band and its awesome !!!!!!!!

Good thread, love black metal bands like Burzum, Emperor, Satyircon, Marduk etc etc etc..

When I lived in Sydney I always went to a store in the city called Utopia Records. They were able to special order everything I wanted. Awesome store... They also have a mail order service which is good as well.

the new DH album is pretty good. i was scared w/ Kris Norris absent, but it's still good. there are some really sweet breakdowns.

im looking for new melodic death metal... im really into The Black Dahlia Murder. any suggestions? I recently started listening to As Blood Runs Black. it's decent, but there's no structure in their songs. i cant listen to the album and think "oh, i know that song!"

suggestions?

yeah not their best. they really went w/ a sludgy, dark sound this time... it seems that nearly all the songs are slow and thick.

Quite, doesn't suit them. I remember seeing them live with Dark Tranquility a few years back. Great gig, felt strangely personal. Might have been the venue that caused it but they are excellent live.

i got to see them at their MySpace secret show here in cleveland a few weeks ago. it was <400 people... really really awesome show. at one point they just started asking the crowd what to play... got to hear some songs they dont play too often. they are great live.

DragonForce is going to be at Sound Academy in early October, I missed them last year when they were here, so now I'll get to see them. On a side OT note, Pink will be here at the ACC near the end of September, I want to see her but I have a feeling tickets are sold out already.

The new album from one of my favs, Ensiferum, is quite good in my opinion. Hopefully the new one from another favorite, Sonata Arctica, will be good when it comes around too.

I saw Sonata Arctica when they opened for Nightwish last year, and they [sonata Arctica] and Taking Dawn are supposed to open for Dragonforce this year.
