Behemoth
I decided to edit this with stuff I've been listening to of late. The Sword - Warp Riders Ridiculous solid rock and roll album with some great guitar work. This is the title track from the album Earthless - Sonic Prayer Gritty, dirty rock and roll. Part of 1 of the opening track Diecast - Day of Recoking Older album from early 2000 that got a lot of heavy play on a local metal station, WSOU for you jersey people, that some of you guys may dig. The band has since lost this singer and have gone with another guy who is more "mainstream friendly" but the drummer in the band was insane. He nearly got picked to play with Slayer when they were looking for a new drummer a while back and doing try outs. Melvins - Houdini Does much really need to be said about this band and the huge influence they've had on bands LOVE The Sword and The Melvins...good call on both of those. Thanks for the intro to Diecast, digging them as well. Ahh, Slayer. There is never a bad time for Slayer. Good Call bruNo. A blast from the past - Fear Factory: Zero Signal from the Demanufacture album. Amazing song from an amazing album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRci3qWeFCA And another from the same album: Self Bias Resistor http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gcnDVJ53Iw&feature=related Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/344650-neowin-metal-club/page/75/#findComment-593352210 Share on other sites

FrankSpin
LOVE The Sword and The Melvins...good call on both of those. Thanks for the intro to Diecast, digging them as well. If you're digging the Diecast stuff start with Day of Reckoning, their one and only album with that singer, then go into the stuff after that. Since I'm listening to this now. firey
I've never been a huge fan of not being able to understand what's being said (except for the case of Rammstein \m/) however.. I still tend to listen to that style music pending the music itself is solid. That's pretty much the only reason I listen to CoB prolly has one of my favorite riffs. FrankSpin
Couple more for everyone. Unearth: band from Massachusetts that have gone through some musical progressions as they released their albums. The first link is the opening track from their first full length and the second song is from their second EP (I don't know what's up with the second video, it's hard to find stuff on youtube from their earlier releases). Since I'm listening to this now. Japanese Rock and Roll awesomeness that is Boris I'll give it a listen - thanks for the rec. I've never been a huge fan of not being able to understand what's being said (except for the case of Rammstein \m/) however.. I still tend to listen to that style music pending the music itself is solid. That's pretty much the only reason I listen to CoB I respect them tremendously music-wise, but I have a hard time getting into his vocals...maybe I need to listen to some more of their stuff. If you like Children of Bodom then check out Dimmu Borgir & 3 Inches of Blood if you haven't yet. I've really gotten into Dimmu Borgir lately, I bought 'in Sorte Diaboli' and 'Abrachadabrah?' - both which I dig very much. Behemoth
I know I've pumped Amon Amarth up on this thread before, but I have been really jamming them lately - on the way to work...whenever I can really - This song gets me pumped in the mornings - something about their riffs make me want to go to battle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hq-ZD6LcPww And another classic of theirs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zfW7Ba5JOI Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/344650-neowin-metal-club/page/75/#findComment-593369838 Share on other sites
Behemoth
I've also been getting into Vader a lot lately - these guys are extremely brutal. One of my favorites of theirs, Lead Us. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsoxOIUG9hE&feature=related I have also been trying to get into Behemoth, some of their stuff is pretty good - At the Left hand Ov God: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSkiT1Ypjcs (pretty blasphemous video, but hey, you're on the Metal Thread) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/344650-neowin-metal-club/page/75/#findComment-593369860 Share on other sites

Death Cult Armageddon was their big new album when I was still working at my college radio station. I've been meaning to re-check it out. GFM
Death Cult Armageddon has been Dimmu's best release since P.E.M. Not that the other are necessarily bad, I just wasn't a hug fan of either, especially Abrahadabra. You guy should check out Dissection, they aren't symphonic but a definite must for any black metal fan. Behemoth
^^ Nice submission! Another that I've been digging lately - more low key than some of the stuff on here, but awesome none the less. Primordial - Empire Falls http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHvuXdhnieA Also, not sure how I feel about this band, but this song is pretty good. Bagpipe(?) metal FTW. The vocals get really good towards the end of the song. (plus the bagpipe dude trips me out!) One more...
