[rel] VistaXP WindowBlinds

Recommended Posts

im having a problem with all of the glass versions. the tasbar works fine and so does the shell styles. the only thing not working is the window frames. there supposed to be transparent but they are just black. they are like this in the preview window also? Any ideas?

Are you running a registered version of Windowblinds 5?

I seem to have a problem (bug?) with the "Glass Normal 2" substyle...

After applying the horizontal shellstyles from the Extras folder, the start button now

looks like this:

I was only able to remedy that by uninstalling/reinstalling the skin, but then of course the shellstyle reverted to its default appearance.

Suggestions, anyone???

I had the same problem after changing to the horizontal shellstyle.

the only problem i have with the horizontal shellstyle is the purple effect if the log off window is also black.

Other than that its working fine in control panel, classic or category. Start button is fine. And also made the shutdown menu the same style.

But as said, if i also make the log off menu the same style, the purple error

Well this is odd.... I just followed you instructions from earlier in this thread and everything works perfectly on my system horizontal shellstyle shutdown and logoff all present and correct..... Never used skin studio before either... Only thing I did different was after choosing each .bmp I pressed the recolour button (don't even know what it does...) and saved after each .bmp (instead of doing them all then saving)... As I've said I know nothing about windowblinds or skinstudio but for whatever reason it seems to have worked. Go figure?!?

small suggestion:

- color theme doesn't match the original Vista color scheme

- some font sizes don't match the Vista (for example: Vista has 9px SegoUI font on taskbar...)

Arrow theme has it ok

Sorry guys but I think you will have to deal with the horizontal shellstyle problem . :/

why not use thi style ?

I seem to have found a way around it...

Select a WB skin - any skin - if it is one that you use regularly & don't want to change, simply copy the directory & rename it.

Then using Skin Studio, open->edit that skin & import the horizontal shellstyle from VistaXP (along with any other bitmaps/images you may want to use).

After you have saved the work, open the WB configuration dialog.

Go to Settings -> User Overrides & check "Always use the shellstyle defined in..." and select the skin that you modified.

BTW, this is still the best theme, period.

Note: You will first have to uninstall/reinstall the VistaXP skin (at least I had to). This will "repair" the start button + overlay.

i think the horizontal shell sytle problem only happens when u change the shell style for the whole theme in skin studio if u select the individual style like glass beta 2 it wont do it also make sure u have the latest skin studio
