Too much memory? I get "not enough memory" error

Recommended Posts

its an issue with x64 OS and x86 software.

download a different 7-zip application? the best i know of an have installed on a x64 is Power Archiver

do the same for the other app which is as of now unnamed

if you really, really, want, I'll take that PC off your hands. i know, it only has 27 cpus, and 3 gb of memory, but if you agre to pay for shipping and handling as well as insurance, i'll take it

:p

Your called the Computer Guru but you cannot read a task manager window correctly ;)

That's 27 Processes not Processors - ie 27 different executables are running at the same time.

What size is your paging file?

I have turned off paging file, but i had the same problem before i turned it off.

Digital: That confirms that bug in the software is the cause. The first app was 7-zip, which i don't even use (not a big problem). The other application was Counter-Strike (not a big problem either).

But I can't believe it's possible to have too much RAM

You can never have too much ram, but however some .. how would I put this not to offend too many people.. inconsiderate OS's and even worse design on hardware can cause unforeseen issues.

LOL, i guess the computer guru wasn't paying attention

after i heard 3 gb memory i was loooking to see if this was a server or not... i had a frieend on pronetwoks who had 6 cpus and 3 gb memory

i was looking for processor count, which i thought was in task manager, forgetting itsin device manager... :pinch:

anyway, :x
