Kupo-Cheer
Since I have 1.51, I will update as soon as the US version is released. I don't want to take a chance and screw something up on accident because I wanted something a little early. And how does the background theme/wallpaper support work? Like the homebrew version of that, or what? BroChaos Veteran Posted July 28, 2005 Veteran Share Posted July 28, 2005 This is pretty Sweet.WPA support w0000t!!! Browser Images Here: http://mattmccants.net/media/PSP/ Edit: Just so you know this was an Update from a US Version 1.50 to Version 2.0. System works fine with no adverse effects. 586281541 you shoulda traded your 1.5 to someone who wanted homebrew... i'm gonna wait until a good game requires it, and even then, if they haven't hacked 2.0, i still prolly won't bother. or i'll let my gf get one, and we can trade back and forth. kylejn
Posting from my PSP right now! Great browser, but a couple things need to be added, IMHO: -Click sound option for clicking links -Ability to use the Memory Stick as virtual RAM in order to increase the max cache and better the browsing experience Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/349827-psp-firmware-20-released/page/2/#findComment-586284260 Share on other sites

TheNay
do u need wireless internet to use the psp browser? 586284708 Yup. I updated my PSP but only b/c it had 1.51. European PSP's will feature 2.0 when they come out I heard, so I'm sure it'll be cracked for them just after release or prior :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/349827-psp-firmware-20-released/page/2/#findComment-586284714 Share on other sites
Rudy
Being honest, the homebrew community will eventually work out how to keep up with sony changing the encryption key - personally when that happens, ill be interested - until then, the benefits outway anything that the community so far has released. 586278679 well right now when i play Untold legend from my memory stick instead of my umd, the load times go down from ~40sec to less than 5. So unless they manage to fix the load times i will be playing my games of my mem stick Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/349827-psp-firmware-20-released/page/2/#findComment-586284730 Share on other sites

Blues
Yea you do unfortunatley. Wait.. i have wireless... ^-^ I got mine set up, its sexy. You dont even really need to do playlists either, there is a random feature if you scroll through the music settings. laz45
The only new and important thing is the WPA support almost everything else have been done in 1.5 Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/349827-psp-firmware-20-released/page/2/#findComment-586284796 Share on other sites
Blues
yea but what i think you dont understand is that this isnt home brew crap. Bescides i had a snes emu and an nes emu running, and quite frankly they were slow and crap. So.. this is a nice improvement. divinatum
im posting this from the psp browser now. im glad i updated, Homebrew was pretty ****ty and ms duo's cost a fortune so i wasnt enjoying playing any backups. i havent checked the h.264 yet, but it should be good :D Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/349827-psp-firmware-20-released/page/2/#findComment-586285046 Share on other sites
Ateoto
you shoulda traded your 1.5 to someone who wanted homebrew... 586284222 I had homebrew on there, its cool but its not cool enough to keep me from getting WPA support so I can actually go online with the thing. Besides eventually they'll hack 2.0 as well. I mean the Browser itself HAD to open up some new holes :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/349827-psp-firmware-20-released/page/2/#findComment-586285804 Share on other sites

+Mystic MVC Posted July 28, 2005 MVC Share Posted July 28, 2005 Well, it's a sad story for my psp. We don't have a wireless system at our house because we have too many computers which can really cost a lot compared to direct cable connection. The town I live in, really has no public wi-fi spots, unless you can find somebody with a wireless connection at their house. So either way you look at it, some people are never going to be able to use this feature anyway. IK47
well, seeing that this update blocks you from using homebrew, I will not be installing it. I know that eventually, homebrew for the PSP will die, but untill then, It is 1.5 for me. BroChaos Veteran Posted July 28, 2005 Veteran Share Posted July 28, 2005 man, how can you say homebrew sucks? nes and snes are pretty much all fully playable. same with gameboy color and genesis. i haven't tried the others, but they are supposed to be pretty good too. obviously they aren't perfect, but they definitely don't suck. divinatum
PSP Always had wifi support. It only supported WEP and Unprotected spots. Now it supports WPA and theres actually something to do with the WIFI Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/349827-psp-firmware-20-released/page/2/#findComment-586287153 Share on other sites
