PSP Firmware 2.0 Released

Recommended Posts

Since I have 1.51, I will update as soon as the US version is released. I don't want to take a chance and screw something up on accident because I wanted something a little early. And how does the background theme/wallpaper support work? Like the homebrew version of that, or what?

This is pretty Sweet.

WPA support w0000t!!!

Edit: Just so you know this was an Update from a US Version 1.50 to Version 2.0. System works fine with no adverse effects.

you shoulda traded your 1.5 to someone who wanted homebrew...

i'm gonna wait until a good game requires it, and even then, if they haven't hacked 2.0, i still prolly won't bother. or i'll let my gf get one, and we can trade back and forth.

there is no Wireless Internet, it converts to Wired after it gets past your router, you jsut need a Wireless Router, or a Wireless card for your PC if you use dialup

do u need wireless internet to use the psp browser?

Being honest, the homebrew community will eventually work out how to keep up with sony changing the encryption key - personally when that happens, ill be interested - until then, the benefits outway anything that the community so far has released.

well right now when i play Untold legend from my memory stick instead of my umd, the load times go down from ~40sec to less than 5. So unless they manage to fix the load times i will be playing my games of my mem stick

(off topic kinda)

How big of a memory stick do you have? and is Untold Legends pretty fun? I've been looking at it but still kind of unsure.

I had homebrew on there, its cool but its not cool enough to keep me from getting WPA support so I can actually go online with the thing. Besides eventually they'll hack 2.0 as well. I mean the Browser itself HAD to open up some new holes :)

Well, it's a sad story for my psp. We don't have a wireless system at our house because we have too many computers which can really cost a lot compared to direct cable connection. The town I live in, really has no public wi-fi spots, unless you can find somebody with a wireless connection at their house. So either way you look at it, some people are never going to be able to use this feature anyway.

man, how can you say homebrew sucks? nes and snes are pretty much all fully playable. same with gameboy color and genesis. i haven't tried the others, but they are supposed to be pretty good too. obviously they aren't perfect, but they definitely don't suck.

I don't understand.

Does PSP now have WiFi support? If so, I'd really like to get one of those little PSPs ^^
