Windows Vista Beta 1

Recommended Posts

it says you can download it if you are an MSDN member... what level of membership do you need to get it?  Can you download it if you subscribe to MSDN library? or do you need the MSDN w/ Operating Systems?

Thanks

WHY THINK IT'S A USABLE OS?

I'm using it right now. Both my onboard and PCI network card worked out of the box.

Has anyone tried using the WinXP drivers? I will hopefully be testing Vista on a Dell here at work. I don't really want to spend time on the phone with Dell tech support to get some drivers.

Whoever said Vista isn't stable is having driver issues or something. I've been KVMing between my Vista computer and my XP computer and Vista is running great. I've installed several programs (CS2, WinZip, PSP 9, Deer Park, Xvid) with no problems. I've had a few progs hang for a second but the OS doesn't stop. It's great. Also, memory management has been great so far.

Nope. I ran the same programs in XP and Vista and Vista took the cake. Everything is very smooth. CPU very low, and also, I don't know if it because it's a beta but very few things appear to be running in the background. The programs actually fit without having to scroll. :)

Remove your CapLock from your computer and think about this:

Does NeoWin is a place for posting post anywhere in caplock?
