Did laser eye surgery ruin Brett Boone's Career?

Recommended Posts

Boone had laser eye surgery a bit back and ever since then he has not only hit poorly, but fielded poorly for the first time in a long, long time.

Apparently there are some people close to Brett that are indicating the laser eye surgery may have hindered / damaged / altered his depth perception and that may well be the cause of his problems, particularly in the field.

Sounds plausible to me. What about you?

If so, I feel bad for the dude. What a way to have to go out. :(

probably did mess with his depth perception. after awhile of being with bad eye site, your brain adjusts for the depth perception, when he had it corrected, his brain was probably still adjusting. if that makes any sense.

Apparently, it may not be correctable. I don't know how I'd be able to adjust to that after 36 years of living or what not.

no it was the crack down on steroids that killed his productivity

hahahaha.....has to be...because the brain adjusts...I mean after you change glasses prescriptions...it doesn't take that long to become use to the new prescription...has to be the roids!

seriously.. i remember back when he played for atlanta for a short stint, he was nothing close to what he became in seattle.. something was up, or he had one hell of an offseason workout routine one year.

God, Boone sucked with the Braves. How I wished Jeff Blauser would come out of retirement then.

Roids wouldn't explain his fielding goofs, I don't think.

no, but his withdraw to roids would. The lack of roids must be always on his mind. On a much more thoughtful note, once the roids wore off and he started sucking it has to be getting to him, hence the fielding errors. Hell, he probly has issues off the field as well with the rotten year he is having

Good points, there. Something for me to ponder.
