Strange graphics 'ghosting' problem

Recommended Posts

The interted image might just show up normally for everyone (because it could just be a problem with my monitor and not graphics card.

I'll describe the problem. I came on my computer for the first time since Sunday, only to notice the text and graphics all look a bit strange. I looked into it a bit further and it seems there's a slight 'ghosting' (or a dull glow if that better describes it) to the right of every image/graphic/text.. Most people could put up with it but i'm finding it highly annoying.

I've tried uninstalling and installing the card drivers again, but to no avail...what could cause this?:s how could I fix it?

Do you have a digital camera? Try using that. Also if you have a LCD, try setting it at it's native resolution.

yep i have a digital camera..it isnt the best, but i'll give it a shot. Oh and my monitor is a CRT..only about 2/3 months old!

I'm sure it's a graphics card related problem though (FX5900 77.72 drivers..not overclocked))

It's a CRT monitor :s

The thing is i don't know how long its been like it for or why it's doing it. But Now i've noticed it, it's just keeps bugging me. And i'm sure it's giving me headaches!:(

The images are tolerable, but the text looks like that 3D stuff you need to put those glasses on for and it's straining my eyes to read stuff

I can't see any anomalies in your screenshots, but from what it looks like in your photos I had the exact same problem with my old Hyunday ImageQuest Q910, and it sure is a problem with the monitor, not the graphics card (I'm using a new Q910 on the same card now, no problems). I got the monitor replaced from the vendor.

Wow... how much does it cost to ship the thing back, the company better pay for it.

Last time a person came in a van and exchanged it within 3 days of me emailing them. The support seems very good, but it's annoying that this monitor has only lasted around 3-4 months!

I just want to say that the first shot of Windows Picture Viewer, it always does this, for whatever reason it always adds the extra white pixels to the right and bottom when zooming in, its just weird like that, and I haven't seen a computer that doesn't do it.

I can tell from the actrual picture that there is ghosting though, but wouldn't know anything about that.
