LT may end up being the best running back ever....

anyone else think the saints got screwed on that call?  defensive holding on a field goal?

That was absolute garbage. It didn't affect the outcome of the kick and on the replay, it was tough to even find where the penalty occured. The NFL is really making a mockery of the Saints this season. First, the lame "home game" in New York and now taking a chance at a win away for some really miniscule penalty. I feel bad for Haslet and the Saints, I'll be rooting for them from here on out.

As for the Raiders...they're going nowhere with Collins as QB. Mark it down. The offense in New York was low-risk, all they did was ask him to make smart throws from 5-10 yards and the occasional deep throw. With the Raiders the offense is more high-risk. He threw the ball 44 times today. Norv Turner (who sucks as a coach by the way) needs to re-evaluate the offense and give the ball to Lamont Jordan about 30 times a game. Their defense is on the field way too much.

I never thought I'd see the Steve Young-Jerry Rice record fall in my lifetime but Manning and Harrison did it. I dislike Peyton for obvious reasons (read: he's a UT Volunteer grad) but those 2 are fun to watch.

He and Marvin Harrison have to be two of the most humble guys in the NFL. They go out and do their jobs in a professional manner and they don't gloat doing it. I like that.

the raiders cant run the ball 30 times, when the refs call a holding(most other teams o-line hold more then the raiders o-line). turner and collins arent the people to lead a team, with rich gannon he would let the other players know who ran the team offence. turner has the raiders do 10 -15 with most of the recevers and moss runs to the end zone, and jordan runs the same play out of the back

man, i can't believe LT got shut down like that.  i mean, there's shutting down, and then there's shutting down.  that was unbelievable.

I agree I was shocked. The Cowboys contained him some, but wow he was totally shut down. I didn't get to see the game myself, wish I had.

they need someone on the O-Line.

i don't think vick will last all of tonights game against the jets. atlanta is better off without him anyways.

I think the Giants should start going no huddle all the time. Manning seems to be at his best when racing against the clock and going in a hurry-up offense :p .

Obviously I'm kidding but I found this excerpt interesting:

Going into Sunday's game, Manning was ranked second in the NFL in the esoteric yet very notable category of fourth-quarter passer efficiency rating. His 104.4 mark trailed only the 137.1 fourth-quarter rating of his sibling, the Indianapolis Colts' Peyton Manning. Eli's fourth-quarter rating actually slipped a tad on Sunday, down to 94.7, but no one in New York figures to mind very much. He completed 13 of 20 passes in the fourth quarter, for 114 yards, one score and one interception. On the winning drive, he connected on nine of 13 for 74 yards, and he threw the touchdown pass to Toomer, who notched only his third score in the last 25 games, under considerable duress.

It was, lest anyone forget, the second consecutive Sunday in which Manning shepherded the Giants' offense to a touchdown on its final possession of the game. The previous Sunday, in a loss at Texas Stadium, he moved the offense 52 yards in only two plays, hooking up with tight end Jeremy Shockey on a game-tying touchdown pass against a Dallas Cowboys defense that had stymied him most of the day. It's not Manning's fault the Giants lost a coin-toss in overtime and never got the ball in the extra period.

So on his final possessions in the last two outings, each time operating from a hurry-up mode, Manning has completed 11 of 15 passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns. One touchdown pass tied a game and the other won a game. Not bad. Source

Would be even better if they didn't have to come back like that at the end of these games but I'll take the W any way it comes lol.

Also, in some sad news for not just the Giants but the NFL as a whole, Wellington Mara passed away today. Story

anyone thinks D.carr will stay after his contract is up?

I don't think so. I thought he was going to be pretty good. He was spectacular in college, but we know that doesn't mean jack. This is why I think he will not return: he just makes too many bad decisions. For example: not throwing the ball and taking sacks (going to get hit either way, might as well git rid of it), running out of bounds with the ball - behind the line of scrimmage (get rid of it!), checking out of passing plays into running plays way too often -> it has become very predictable.

I have been a big supporter of David since day 1, until the last few weeks... Before the season started I was thinking this was going to be the year that will make or break him. Looks like he is done for,,,,,, BUT if you listen to the media they say he is the man in Houston and will be for a long time. I don't see that happening though.

I don't know why he is still the starter to tell you the truth. I say give Ragone a shot.

Maybe he is a decent QB on a bad team, like Jake Plummer w/ the Cardinals a few years back. Who knows.

Talk about playing some inspired football. Tiki with 206 rushing yards. The defense DOMINATING. Awesome. Can't believe how reserved Shockey is, too. No emotion after his TD. They boys in blue did the Duke proud today. Gibbs has been shout out for the first time in his career during the regular season. The Duke is definitely smiling up in the skybox seats

What's with all the Eli hating? Trying to let out your frustrations with a 1-6 team by choosing to mock someone else? Aaaaaaaaw.

On another note. Buffalo is owning the clock. Can't believe these drives they're putting together.

edit> And just like THAT the Pats look like that Pats again.

T.O.P Buf-39:10 NE-18:47.

WOW. How can you check down to someone that short of the first down. Dumb way to turnover on downs. At least take your shot. I'd rather go for the distance and have it intercepted than turn it over like that.

Man, Bruschi could probably play with a hole in his heart because he has the heart of more than one guy. They said he just played in something like 64 of the 77 defensive plays. AND he was on the special teams unit quite a bit. The guy's nothing BUT heart.

Too late to edit but I had to share this. Hysterical stat of the week: With 3 pass attempts this season Ladainian Tomlinson has thrown 3 TDs. That is as many TDs as FOUR Jets QBs have thrown in 207 pass attempts. That's all. I don't think any mockery needs to be made. The stat speaks for itself lol.

Is Tom Benson (Saints' owner) an idiot? Not only did he pull a Kenny Rogers today and try to tear apart a camera but he got into and argument with a fan. Yeah sure when you won't just squash the rumors by saying we're not going anywhere what kind of public reaction do you expect. Way to go slick. Story.

Even though the reason for it isn't the best, or anything you'd want, Mike Martz not being able to coach the Rams this season may be the best thing for them. Apparently, with his departure, they remembered that you can actually RUN the ball, again.
