0 B1gDaddy87
I'm telling you there is an app which loads much faster, I just can't find it. 0 sjobbe
I think Adobe's Reader i just sh*t. Adobe Acrobat Reader takes almost 100mb installed (v. 7) While Foxit Reader takes about 3mb. Much lighter faster and does the thing http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/361432-adobe-acrobat-reader-alternative/#findComment-586406600 Share on other sites
0 devyant
sjobbe, no doubt, thats because you just use it for reading, so Foxit should do well for you. But there are people who do use the advanced features of the Acrobat reader, so you don't term it as sh*t just because you do not use the advanced features provided. For reading thou, Adobe Acrobat Reader is just plain bloated. 0 B1gDaddy87
Just one question though. If I switch to Foxit Reader, how do I make my PDF files open directly in IE with this app, you know some sites provide pages in PDF... 0 Post-It Note
Adobe reader Speedup: http://www.tnk-bootblock.co.uk/prods/misc/index.php Just remove the plugins that you would never need (it suggests some, I think). You can make it load in a few seconds. There's also a similar tool for photoshop, but you have to be careful not to remove plugins that you need. (Haven't found an alternative to Acrobat that renders graphics 100% of the time. :( ). However, there aren't many options to look thru in Foxit, so turning that feature on shouldn't be much of a problem. It's not obvious how to get it to work, which is kinda dumb on their part. Basically you need to set Foxit as your default PDF reader, via the Help menu. Here's a composite screenshot. Hope that helps :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/361432-adobe-acrobat-reader-alternative/#findComment-586406858 Share on other sites
