Martyn
I think it's just funny how people are still voting, some for Liverpool too. :DWell, if Newcastle play pants this season, he's got a get-out clause if he's unhappy. 586457495 Yep, Liverpool were winning by miles. But since he has gone to Newcastle they are winning the poll! stanneh
He was an average goal scorer. Now he's nothing. spa2k
Newcastle clearly are a big club. A club's size isn't made by it's trophy cabinet. As always, it's the fans that make the club.Pretty ignorant to think they aren't to be honest. Yes, Newcastle had a bad finish last season, as well as that season we finished 13th under Sir Bobby. Look at our other final standings and I think you'll see a kind of pattern. Although admittedly, Liverpool are a bigger club in terms of trophies, they have won more league championships than all other teams, yet I wouldn't call them the biggest club in England. 586455299 A club is only ever judged by what they have won......which is why newcastle are never seen as a decent club. Liverpool fans flock to the clubs ground to see trophies paraded whilst newcastle go to see trophy signings. Therein lies the difference between the clubs. Yes, newcastle are a big club in terms of fanbase...unfortunately for you dear fellow fans dont win trophies, the players do. You have bought one decent ex-liverpool player....now you have to get decent signings to fit in with him. Good luck for the season......20 - 25 goals have now been guaranteed, trophies are not. Martyn
I have just seen on the telly that the Newcastle fans were singing "are you watching Liverpool?" (they sung it badly by the way). They are asking us if we are watching? Were they watching on May 25th? At the press conference today you could see that Owen was gutted to be joining them, the kept going on about how he wanted to join Liverpool and how he was dissapointed that Real never let him. How does it feel to be second best Newcastle fans? Sure you have a lot of fans, but Liverpool have the best fans in the world (and that cant be denied). But good luck to you Mickey, you were and Anfield legend. Martyn
no - he has no such clauses. 586459670 He was supposedly meant to have a get out clause allowing him to leave for ?12 million next summer. But he doesnt have that partiticular clause. However, Snoopy he does have several clauses in his contract. Reports said Owen has a clause allowing him to leave after a year, but Magpies chairman Freddy Shepherd denies this."I have heard a little rumour that Michael has a clause in his contract which states he can leave Newcastle United in one year's time," he said. "I can tell you now that he hasn't. Of course Michael has clauses in his contract. "In this day and age, all top players do - Alan Shearer does. But that is not one of them. ZiGGA
 Moving on, he's gone and that's that, I'd like to thank the Liverpool board for not bringing back our man. Anyway life is such and we still have a good side so on we go. Shibby
If it makes you feel better Pompey have just signed a striker Uruguayan striker Dario Silva from Spanish club Sevilla http://www.pompeyfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/N...~707337,00.html Kinda looks like david james (bit of a bad thing) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/363146-soccer-michael-owen/page/3/#findComment-586460359 Share on other sites
Martyn
As Michael Owen will soon find out, if you mix black and white together you get grey, not silver  Just ask Alan Shearer. Avoid relegation if you are lucky....i am not disrespecting your team, i just think that too much change too quickly can only be a bad thing. Its a good job you have such a good loyal set of fans because in m eyes your season is not looking too hopeful!! Shibby
We will disprove you :p Pompey haven't got much money. We are now only 7mill in debt. The staduim is falling to bits so thats getting improved. Milan Mandric has already wiped of 20million of debt. Going to bulid pompey village with his money so the club can get money from shops. And is looking for a place to bulid a new training ground. Our players from last season where always injury prone, old and asking for high wages. Spending money doesn't mean you stay up, Ask the likes of west ham :) Also I suspect a win against Everton now, Our team has come on leaps and bound are playing as team, They've only been with each other for like a month and a half. HimalayaJoe
I, for one, wish Portsmouth a good season. It'd be a shame to see them go down now. They've came a long way since joining the premiership. Either all those new signings will be a big hit, or a flop. Very risky bringing in so many. But still, good luck. ZiGGA
Losing Harry Redknapp was a big blow and I don't think Portsmouth have been the same since. Changed managers more than once there's been too much change definitely. I can only see a bottom 5 finish I can't see them finishing any higher with all due respect to the Portsmouth fans I just don't see a good season ahead. Shibby
True a good season may not be ahead, i was pretty anoyed at the loss of harry redknap since he said he couldn't work under a sporting director. Who then took control of the team manging no wins. But we have Alain Perrin Who i'm sure some of you had some bad luck but also good luck. Even thou we had change in nearly every single area in the club it in fact a good thing money wise is alot more secure. Player wise not to sure but i think only one player will be a flop and thats the loan Karadas. Well enough of little old portsmouth i can't wait to see owen play again in england. I think everyone who supports england will be looking at new castle next match Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/363146-soccer-michael-owen/page/3/#findComment-586466200 Share on other sites
Andy07
Michael Owen is a pretty crap footballer, thats why hes left Real Madrid. Hes a really good finisher but has nothing else to offer and he will not change a bad team like Newcastle into a top team.
