em3
^Yea, that's my guess to. Really wish it wasn't though. Don't want to buy a new motherboard, and reinstall everything. I would also have to call Microsoft and tell them to reset my activation key (I think). :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/366542-luna-element-4/page/47/#findComment-586836220 Share on other sites

benten2000
Have you tried another power cable to PSU, also does you motherboard have a red status LED so you know that it's receiving power? But there is a green light where the LAN cable is. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/366542-luna-element-4/page/47/#findComment-586836246 Share on other sites
EGM92
the LED would be inside your case, you'd need to have it opened, it's either green or red depending on the board. agoNITE
AnnouncementMy computer is dead. So don't expect any progress on the theme for at least 2 weeks. If anyone have a clue to what the problem might be, send me a PM. Issue: I press ON, nothing happens. Tried a different PSU, no difference. Nothing wierd happend at last shutdown, exept that when the computer was off I turned the power off completly. Btw, all cables and cords are connected. 586836123[/snapback] did you do a 'clear CMOS' ? it's usually a jumper located around the BIOS chip...with the power off, set the jumper on clear mode for approx. 1 minute, then set it back at normal mode...might help :) also, that LED some people mentioned on this page, you mean the LED is on the motherboard? if so, doesn't only MSI and EPOX have some sort of diag LED on the motherboard? MrMB
Too bad em3. Two things: 1. Please tell me that either the hard disk is good or you have all the luna element source images backed up somewhere :p 2. I had a problem with the same symptoms turned out the capacitors on the mother board were leaking. Worth checking them over. Plus try removing the power switch and touching the cables together (worth a go). Also what motherboard is it and good luck (In the end i bought a new one switched it over and all was good except that Xp had to be reinstalled cus it didn't like the change in IDE controller) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/366542-luna-element-4/page/47/#findComment-586836714 Share on other sites
OrcoXP
Asus has this onboard POST diagnostic LED Gigabyte does not EM3, is the network card built into the motherboard? if so then you are at least getting power through the motherboard. When you hit the power buttom...do any of the fans start to turn? If so let it go and within about 5 minutes it should beep...1 long 2 short or some pattern of long and short...post the response. Or just search for the response on google...that'll tell you what to look at first. Most likely if your fans turn then your motherboard is good...just wait for the beeps. If you get no response from the power button...start simple...try another power switch. Maybe even reply with the numbers/names you can find on the mobo. Hope this helps! EDIT: MrMB is on the right track with the crossing wires thing...I have never done that so I didn't want to advise that. Another thing you can do is remove all hardware and peripherals (data & power connections)...ram, cpu and video should at least give you the bios info on the screen Edited November 21, 2005 by orcoxp2004 Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/366542-luna-element-4/page/47/#findComment-586836752 Share on other sites
MrMB
^ I can't be entirely sure how safe it is to just touch the wires but I have tried it and there was no obvious damage. It is a relatively low voltage across the wires and I can't think of any reason why it shouldn't be safe to do it. I pressed F1 to continue and didn't think any more about it. I will look for the jumper in the manual and see if I can find it. Though I did try to disconnect the battery and put it back, didn't work. My network is on the motherboard. And that's also where the led is.
