In Group E tonight PSV Eindhoven got a 1-0 victory over last years finalists Milan AC, Jefferson Farfan getting the winner in the first half, Milan defender Jaap Stam was sent off late on in the match. In the other Group E match Turkish side Fenerbahce went down 2-0 away to Schalke 04, Kevin Kuranyi and Ebbe Sand on the scoresheet for the home side.

In Group F Lyon came back from a goal down to thrash Olympiakos 4-1 at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium, goals from Juninho, John Carew (2) and Diarra keeps their 100% record intact and ensures qualification for the next round. In the other match Rosenborg lost out 2-0 at home to Real Madrid, an own goal from Dorsin and a second from Jose Marie Gutierrez in the first half enough to see the Spaniards join Lyon in the next round.

To Group G now, and Chelsea lost their first Champions League match this season as they went down 1-0 to Real Betis in Seville, Dani scoring the only goal midway through the first half. And in the other tie Liverpool easily saw off Belgian side Anderlecht 3-0 at Anfield with goals from Fernando Morientes, Luis Garcia and Djibril Cisse. Jestrovic of Anderlecht was red-carded 15 minutes from time.

Finally in Group H Artmedia Bratislava and Rangers fought out a 2-2 draw, goals from Balazs Borbely and Jan Kozak for the home side, and Dado Prso and Steven Thompson for Rangers in an entertaining tie. In the other game Internazionale came back from a goal down to defeat FC Porto 2-1 at a once again empty San Siro, Hugo Almeida putting the away side in front with an amazing free kick, but a double from Julio Cruz in the last 15 minutes (one a penalty) gave the home side all three points.

Player of the night: Hugo Almeida (FC Porto) for THAT free kick at the San Siro. (What a goal!)

I'm not a Chelsea fan, but after watching the Chelsea match I have had it up to here with mainly foreign players diving all over the place. If they don't bring in some kind of system where anyone diving gets blown up I'm gonna be mad.

Oof. Tough loss for the rossoneri today :( . Being in second in a Champions League group feels unnatural lol. Hopefully, we can rebound well at Fenerbache.

Results for Wednesday 2nd November

A Club Brugge 3 - 2 Rapid Vienna

A Juventus 2 - 1 Bayern Munich

B Arsenal 3 - 0 Sparta Prague

B FC Thun 2 - 4 Ajax

C Werder Bremen 4 - 3 Udinese

C Barcelona 5 - 0 Panathinaikos

D Benfica 0 - 1 Villarreal

D Lille 1 - 0 Manchester United

In Group A tonight a goal in the first minute by Marek Kincl got Rapid Vienna off to a flyer, but it wasn't enough as they went down 3-2 away at Club Brugge, Portillo, Balaban and Verheyen on the scoresheet for the home side, a late consolation by Stefen Hoffman too little too late for the Austrians.

In the other Group A match two goals from David Trezeguet saw off Bayern Munich as Juventus won 2-1, Sebastien Deisler scoring the Germans only goal of an exciting match at the Stadio Delle Alpi. Juventus striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was sent off in the last minute of that match.

To Group B now and Arsenal kept up their 100% record with an easy 3-0 win over Sparta Prague at Highbury, Thierry Henry opened the scoring in the first half and a rapid double late in the second half from Robin Van Persie seales the victory for the Gunners. They now qualify for the next round.

In the other match FC Thun went down 4-2 at home to Ajax, the game seemed to be heading for a 2-2 draw until the dutch side scored 2 in injury time to leave Switzerland with all 3 points, Sneijder, Anastasiou, De Jong and Boukhari scoring the Ajax goals.

In Group C an amazing match at the Weserstadion saw Werder Bremen defeat Udinese by 4-3, Bremen were 3-0 up through goals by Klose, Baumann and Micoud, but thay were cancelled out by 3 quick-fire goals by Di Natale (2) and a Schulz o.g. to bring the Italian side level, but a second by Micoud gave the Germans all three points.

At the Nou Camp Barcelona hammered Panathinaikos 5-0, a hat-trick by Samuel Eto'o and others from Mark Van Bommel and Lionel Messi sealed an easy win for the Catalan side.

Finally in Group D Villarreal picked up a valuable three points at Benfica, Marcos Senna scoring the winner nine minutes from time to put Villarreal top of the group.

And in the other match at the Stade De France Lille defeated Manchester United 1-0, Milenko Acimovic scoring the only goal of the game towards the end of the first half to put them second in the group.

Player of the night: Samuel Eto'o for his hat-trick for Barcelona against Panathinaikos.

A total of 31 goals scored tonight, more of this in the tournament would be great :)
