I reckon it's funny how Mac people want a windows theme, and Windows people want a Mac theme.

Pity the Mac themes don't actually give you the windows interface.

The windows themes gives you the entire Mac interface. =)

nope, the windows themes hardly come close to getting aqua right. i themed my pc for a while before getting a mac and the differences are astonishing...

I wanted to port my Vista theme to OSX but I really hate how themes are created for OSX. Just replacing resources.

Here's a mockup. I dont know if some things are possible.

That is a nice mockup. I am sure if you posted it at macthemes someone might be interested in helping you code it.

I have made a mockup, which I am currently coding into a theme. I have no experience either. You just have to dive in. It is not as hard as it looks. There is just a lot of elements to theme.. and trying to figure out where all the elements are for is a challenge.

As for all the elements being possible. I don't believe the reflection will turn out the way you want it too. In the metal window background images are stretched. In the aqua window it would not be possible at all...

Speaking of mockups though. Some of you might be interested in my mockup. It is not vista, but it

Actual progress. Not a mockup.

Amazing theme Threed. The only thing I think you must change is make the captionbuttons (close, minimize, maximize button) round. It would rock in all ways if you do this. And if you really like the long captionbuttons, make 2 variants. All I cane say except that is that it really rocks man!!

I can't wait to use it :p

Keep up the good work :)

Did show off some of the simple stuff WindowServer could do though, and now with CoreImage and Tiger, well, each window on the system could appear with the Ripple effect if apple wanted, but that would get annoying.

Yup so true, with Mac OS X 10.4 the sky is the limit when it comes to special effects. The Ripple effect is already getting annoying if you ask me, it's just way too big.

I would like to see that every window does a subtile effect upon opening and closing.

CoreImage, introduced in 10.3, should allow it quite easily.

He was talking about that Windows Vista's Glass interface isn't usable with everyday work.

There is so much transparency that overlapping windows become blurry and give a messy appearance. Plus the difference between active and non-active windows isn't noticeable enough.

Apple tried giving Mac OS X a transparent look in versions 10.0 Cheetah - 10.2 Jaguar, there was much complaint about it from people who had to use their computers all day long.
